Get Their Attention! (5 minutes) Materials: BeBo Monster Puppet
WELCOME kids to our FearBusters Lab. EXPLAIN that in our lab, we’re FearBusters who work hard to say “bye, bye, bye” to all the things that scare us & our monster friends. INTRODUCE & PASS BeBo Monster Puppet by saying: Meet BeBo Monster! (Hold Up Puppet) Everyone give a ROARsome “Hello” to BeBo! (Everyone waves & says “Hello”.)
Need to Know: When I’m Scared, (make scared face) God Gives Me (cup hands, palms up) What I Need! (thumbs to chest)
Bible Story: God Cares for a Widow 1 Kings 17:7-16
Materials: BeBo Monster Puppet
When BeBo Monster comes to you, in your best monster voice, tell him your name. (Kids will PASS puppet & introduce themselves to puppet.) AFTER all kids have been introduced, SAY & DO the following: Have you ever been scared of something? (Allow responses.) We all get scared sometimes. Even our monster friend, BeBo, gets scared sometimes! Today, let’s teach BeBo how we can BUST our fears! So say this with me: When I’m Scared, (make scared face) God Gives Me (cup hands, palms up) What I Need! (thumbs to chest)

Materials: What I Need Sheets, FearBusting Pictures, Glue Sticks, Scared Pictures
What I Need Sheets
1. GIVE each child one What I Need Sheet. PLACE FearBusting Pictures & Glue Sticks in the center of the group.

2. SAY the following:

Today we are learning that God gives us what we need when we are scared. Let’s see if we can find what we might need if we are scared.
Hand Sanitizer
HOLD UP each Scared Picture, and ask/say the following:
Snacks
What is this a picture of? (Allow responses.)
Crayons
Have you ever been scared of this? (Allow responses.)
Coloring Sheets
What did God give us to help us not be scared? (Allow responses & have kids select correct FearBusting Picture, from center of group.)
Filler Guide
Turn Scared Picture over & SHOW kids what God gives us to bust this fear!
Application Activity Summary: Kids will discover ways God gives them what they need when they are scared.
3. For each Scared Picture, allow kids to SELECT the correct FearBusting Picture and GLUE it in the correct spot on their What I Need Sheet. 4. After kids have glued all 4 FearBusting Pictures to their sheet, SAY the following: We all get scared sometimes. You can hang this sheet up at home to remind you of ways God gives you what you need when you are scared. Let’s say what we Need to Know today (have kids repeat after you): When I’m Scared, (make scared face) God Gives Me (cup hands, palms up) What I Need! (thumbs to chest)
Preschool Getting to Know You: Use these questions to get to know your group as they eat & color: In large group, was BeBo Monster scared of BEING ALONE or scared of an ICE CREAM CONE? (Being alone) Have you ever been all alone and gotten scared? Who can give you what you need so you are not scared anymore? (God!)

Wrap It Up (2 min) Materials: Hand Sanitizer, Snacks, Coloring Sheets, Crayons, Filler Guide
PRAY with your group, having them repeat the following after you in short phrases. Dear God, thank you giving me what I need when I’m scared! Thank you for my snack. I love you! In Jesus’ name I pray, amen! SANITIZE hands with hand sanitizer & PASS OUT snacks. PLACE crayons in center of group. Have kids color the person on their What I Need Sheet to look like themselves. Ask questions, on left, to get to know your group. If time allows, have them color the Coloring Sheet. USE Filler Guide to keep kids engaged for remainder of small group.
