• 1 cup warm water • 1/2 tbsp. dry yeast • 2 eggs • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil • 2 tbsp. honey • 1/2 cup raisins • 4 cups flour • 1 tsp. kosher salt • poppy seeds

DIRECTIONS INGREDIENTS

• 1 cup warm water • 1/2 tbsp. dry yeast • 2 eggs • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil • 2 tbsp. honey • 1/2 cup raisins • 4 cups flour • 1 tsp. kosher salt • poppy seeds

Step 1: Pour warm water into a large mixing bowl. Stir in yeast, then add one egg, oil, honey, and raisins. Mix well and add about half the flour. Stir well. Step 2: Let mixture rest 45 minutes to one hour until yeast is bubbly. After washing hands, invite children to help you add the salt and most of the remaining flour to the bowl. Step 3: Mix and knead on a lightly floured board, adding only as much flour as necessary. The dough should be soft. Let the dough rise for one hour. Step 4: Place Challah in a greased pan and let rise for another hour. Step 5: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Step 6: Beat remaining egg in a bowl. Invite your kids to help you brush the top of the loaf with the beaten egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Wash hands. Bake for 45 minutes to one hour. Remove from the pan and cool on a rack.
