The golf team returns an experienced team in 2014-15 and will look for those veterans to put the Knights back up in the elite of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). The Knights are looking forward to getting back on the golf course after a tough season which featured just eight matches after Mother Nature did not cooperate. “Our small but experienced squad is capable of pulling together and posting numbers low enough to beat anyone in our conference and beyond”, says Head Coach Frank Sill. “Our goal is to represent Neumann University in the most sportsmanlike manners, bringing a highly motivated, competitive team to every competition. And as all our competitors know, we’ll come dressed really well.” Bruce Bandos has been tabbed the captain for the upcoming season. The senior played in nine rounds of golf last year and had an average of 84.9. Second team All-CSAC honoree junior Brandon Gagne led the Knights last season averaging a 79.9 in nine rounds of gold. While losing just one senior, Neumann will have a lot of experience on the course this year and will look to use it to its advantage to get back to the CSAC Championships and beyond. “I am very proud of the consistency of play we have had over the history of Neumann golf ”, says Coach Sill. “We are always in contention, never to be counted out of the top performing teams and individuals. We have depth this year which will be hard to match in the CSAC. Bandos is the last of the 2012 Championship team that competed at Nationals. He wants to go again.”

Did you know neumann’s original name was Our Lady of Angels College (OLA)? Did you know neumann joined the ncAA in 1994? Did you know golf’s first season at neumann was in 1997? Did you know Money Magazine named Neumann University one of the 25 most affordable private colleges in America?

In 2012-13 Neumann placed sixth at the CSAC Championship. Six players on Coach Sill’s Golf team were named to the All-Academic team in 2012-13. The Knights won the CSAC championship in the 2011-2012 season, the first for the program. Neumann represented the CSAC at the NCAA Tournament. Senior Chris Donohue putted out on the 18th hole to secure victory, as the Knights marked their first trip to the NCAA tournament, which was held in Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida. Chris Donohue finished second overall and made first team All-CSAC, Ryan Dreger joined Donohue to the first team honors, while Bruce Bandos made second team All-Conference. Since taking over 14 years ago, Coach Sill has revitalized the program with enthusiasm and a true love for the game. Coach Sill has the Knights practicing hard, playing with intensity and consistently displaying integrity and good sportsmanship on and off the course. He feels if the team does this, they are winners in every match! This philosophy has paid off for coach Sill with five second place finishes in the PAC and a second place finish in the CSAC while winning the 2011-12 CSAC Championship. Coach Sill owns and operates Ogden Supply Company in Chichester, Pa. He is very active in his community and currently resides in Boothwyn, Pa. He is a member of Chichester Rotary and a founding member of the Chichester Historic Society; he is also a member of the Brandywine Country Club. Coach Sill’s awards include Rotary International's Paul Harris Fellow and Governor’s Citation for Community Service. Coach Siill has also been honored with the Chichester School District’s Service Award and Lower Chichester Township’s “Service Above Self ” Award.
