Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper Proceeds Many thanks to all who attended the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper! Along with wonderful fellowship, we were able to raise $446 for Mercer House, an organization serving the community in areas of family and parenting where parents learn the importance of taking care of themselves so they can better care for their children; learn stress management and communication tools, and effective parenting skills.
Loving God, Help us to be open to the moving of your Spirit. Help us to work together to grow into all that you want us to be. Help us to share Christ with the world. Most of all, help us to love each other as you have loved us. We pray all of these things in your holy name. Amen.

Winter University There are a lot of things you can learn from a lecture, but Godly Play is best experienced. Join us for Winter University on March 20, 2013. We'll gather for a potluck dinner at 6:00 p.m. and listen as The Rev. Kay Flores tells us about Godly Play. Then Kay will lead us in a Godly Play experience: Getting ready, hearing a story, responding, and sharing the feast. This session is designed for adults, but children are welcome as well. The Godly Play Foundation's website explains this way: "Godly Play teaches children the art of using Christian language - parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action - helping them become more fully aware of the mystery of God's presence in their lives. The goal of
Winter University (cont.) Godly Play is to show how to be open to the Holy Spirit, The Creator, and the Redeemer all at once and all the time in every place. To achieve this goal is to help children become deeply rooted as Christians and yet at the same time use this powerful language and community to be open and creative." (godlyplay.org) Kay is a Godly Play teacher and is in training to become a Godly Play trainer. Contact her at 265-6516 for more information. We look forward to seeing you there!
Daylight Savings Time Begins March 10, 2013
Set your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed Saturday night!
Showering Baby-to-be With Love As many of you know, Terri Strickland-Odell & Chris Odell are expecting a baby girl on March 19th. As a token of our love and a welcome into the world, St. Stephen’s would like to “shower” them with love in anticipation of the upcoming birth of their bundle of joy on March 3rd right after church. Until then, we will collect donations toward this goal. If you are interested in participating, you may either donate money toward a combined gift from the congregation (Temple is collecting the funds), or purchase a gift on your own. The family is registered at Target in case you are in need of ideas!
