RMAC/Wilson Players of the Week Offensive Player of the Week Justin Dvorak Colorado Mines Sophomore, Quarterback, 6-0, 200 Tomball, Texas/Tomball HS Dvorak led No. 17 Colorado School of Mines to a thrilling 42-35 victory over New Mexico Highlands on the road Saturday to keep the Orediggers unbeaten at 5-0 overall and 3-0 RMAC. The sophomore completed 43-of65 passes for 476 yards and five touchdowns, connecting on passes to seven different receivers with four different Orediggers catching touchdown passes. In the fourth quarter alone, Dvorak was 10-of-16 for 131 yards and a touchdown to knock off previously RMAC-unbeaten NMHU. Mines and NMHU combined to set the NCAA Division II record for most passes attempted in a game with 139, breaking the record set by St. Anselm & Seton Hill on November 3, 2012. The squads also tied the Division II record for combined completions with 93 on Saturday, tying the record set by Shippensburg and Kutztown on Oct. 13, 2012. Dvorak improved to 8-0 in his career as Mines’ starting quarterback dating back to last season, and Mines won its ninth straight over the same span. He has a 153.79 passer efficiency on the season to go with 1,944 yards, 15 touchdowns and two interceptions on 168-of-245 passing (68.8 completion percent). The dual threat has also carried 66 times for 203 yards and another five touchdowns in 2014.
Defensive Player of the Week Kole Kadavy Colorado Mines Senior, Linebacker, 5-11, 205 Greeley, Colo./Greeley Central HS Kadavy led the defensive unit for No. 17 Colorado School of Mines during the squad’s 42-35 victory over New Mexico Highlands on Saturday with 12 tackles. The Greeley, Colorado, product recorded nine solo stops, 2.5 tackles for loss, while also breaking up a pair of passes and intercepting another in the fourth quarter. He now leads Mines in tackles (55), solo tackles (35) and interceptions (two), while sitting second on the team with 8.0 tackles for loss.
Special Teams Player of the Week Randy Wentz Chadron State Sophomore, Placekicker, 5-11, 165 Scottsbluff, Neb./Scottsbluff HS Randy went a perfect 2-for-2 in field goals in CSC’s win over Western State. He connected on a 28-yard effort and added a 47yard kick late in the first half. He is the only RMAC kicker to remain perfect on field goals through five weeks.

2014 RMAC Football Preseason Players of the Year Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Chris Bonner, CSU-Pueblo Quarterback Senior, 6-7, 225 San Diego, Calif./Grossmont JC Being touted as a Harlon Hill Award candidate after being named RMAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2013 and helping the Pack to the conference championship.. Bonner is on the Beyond Sports Network (BSN) Preseason Division II AllAmerican team. Last season he had 3413 yeards with 33 touchdowns against just nine interceptions. The first-team All-RMAC selection had a QB efficiency rating of 161.1, completing 225 of 274 attempts for a 60.2 percentage.
Preseason Defensive Player of the Year Darius Allen, CSU-Pueblo Defensive End Senior, 6-3, 239 Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo East HS Allen won the prestigious Gene Upshaw Award as the top lineman (offensive or defensive) in NCAA Division II. He was also named National Defensive Player of the Year by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette, and First Team All-America after leading DII in sacks with 15.5, setting the new CSU-Pueblo single season record. He also had 26.5 tackles for loss, another school record and good for top 10 in the country. Is a preseason All-America pick for BSN, Sporting News and Lindy’s.
Preseason Special Teams Player of the Year Avery Llewellyn, Colorado Mines Kicker/Punter Junior, 6-4, 180 Durango, Colo./Durango HS Named RMAC Special Teams Player of the Year in 2013 after serving double duty as the Orediggers starting kicker and punter. He led the RMAC in field goals made with 14, scoring 86 total points. His longest field goal of the season was 50 yards and he booted 34 kickoffs for touchbacks. As a punter, Llewellyn averaged 44.2 yards per punt. He is on the Fred Mitchell watch list, which goes to the top small college kicker (DII, DIII, Division FCS, NAIA and NJCAA).
