Sacred Heart Reception Newsletter Issue 10– Friday 25th November What a great start to reading at home—Thank you to all parents who wrote comments in their child’s reading log. Please try to write, even just a short comment, as we follow the whole school policy and are unable to change a reading book until it has been read at home. Reading at home helps build on the reading skills we work on in school. It also helps to promote confidence in each child as well as foster their love for reading. If you are unsure as to how to support your child as they read please come and speak to us. This week we have been working very hard to practice our nativity. The children spent a lot of time choosing the part they wanted to play, and deciding if they wanted to speak or not. A letter was sent home on Wednesday stating the part each child was playing and what their lines were. (Hopefully this made it’s way to you as lots of children were very excited– just let me know if you need another copy) We would be ever so grateful if parents could spend some time helping their child to learn their words ready for the performance. Of course we will be doing lots and lots of practice in school, however it does give the children a great confidence if they already know their lines when they come to perform. The dates of the performance are as follows: ·

Monday 12 December - 9.30am till 11.40am (Grandparents/Parishioners)

·

Monday 12 December - 1.00pm till 3.10pm (Parents)

·

Tuesday 13 December - 1.00pm till 3.10pm (Parents)

Tickets are restricted to a maximum of two per family at a cost of £2.50 per ticket. Numbered tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Any tickets not bought by Monday 5 December will be released as spares Any parents with younger siblings in Little Hearts can pay as normal through your older child’s ParentPay account. Any parents with children only in Little Hearts and therefore do not have a ParentPay account can email their request to [email protected] as the email will be timestamped (to keep it fair, any emails before 6.30pm tonight will be ignored) and cash payment can be given to Gill. PARENTPAY ORDERING: Log in to your ParentPay account as normal and go to the ‘Christmas Performances’ item. This will only be available for one child in the family. When the children arrived in class on Monday morning, Miss Wise and Mrs Bowes had transformed our home corner into a fruit shop! We have loved playing in the fruit shop, weighing items and writing cheques and shopping lists.
