Sew Spooky Banner Quilt FINISHED QUILT SIZE 63½” x 63½” Measurements include ¼” seam allowance. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated. FABRIC REQUIREMENTS 1 banner panel 31/8 yards (2.9 m) clean white solid (C100-01 Clean White) 1/8 yard (15 cm) solid for applique letters 1 yard (95 cm) for border 31/8 yards (2.9 m) ric rac or other trim for banners Optional: 1/4 yard heat bond for letters Binding 5/8 yard (60 cm) Backing 4 yards (3.7 m) CUTTING REQUIREMENTS Please read instructions first before cutting. Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Quilt Center Cut 1 strip 40¼” x 54” (parallel to the selvage) from clean white solid Cut 1 strip 14¼” x 54” (parallel to the selvage) from clean white solid Cut 18 banner triangles from the panel Cut letters from alphabet from solid fabric. Add ¼” seam allowance if necessary for your favorite method of applique. Border 1 Cut 6 strips 5½” x WOF from border fabric QUILT ASSEMBLY Refer to the quilt photo for placement of fabrics. Quilt Center Assembly Sew the 2 clean white solid strips together to create a 54” x 54” square. Referring to the quilt photo for layout, place the banner triangles on the clean white solid square. Attach the triangles by sewing 1/8” in from the edge on all sides. Add ric rac or trim across the top of the banner triangles. Sew on letters using your favorite method of applique. Borders Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew border strips together end to end if necessary to get the length needed. Sew side borders first. Border 1 Side borders should be 54”. Top and bottom borders should be 64”. Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt. Note: This quilt uses the Accuquilt Alphabet.
