QUICK HITS • Slippery Rock is 20-7 overall, 14-7 in PSAC games and has already locked up a spot in the PSAC playoffs. The winner of today’s game will earn the No. 2 seed in the PSAC West and a first round bye in the playoffs. The loser will be the No. 3 seed and host Mercyhurst in the first round of the playoffs Monday night. • SRU posted a 72-61 win at home over Gannon in the first meeting this year, but hasn’t won at the Hammermill Center since the PSAC playoffs in 2012-13, losing six straight games to Gannon in Erie. • Slippery Rock ranks first in the nation in offensive rebounds per game (17.4), total rebounds per game (47.3), total rebounds (1,277) and total blocks (182). The Rock also rank second in the nation in blocks per game (6.7) and rebounding margin (+12.5) and 13th in total field goal percentage defense (40.4 percent). • Micah Till averages 21.3 points, 12.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. He ranks third in the nation in double-doubles (19) and second in the nation in total rebounds (326), while also ranking third in offensive rebounding (4.5 per game) and fifth in the country in rebounding average (12.1 per game). •Brandon Simmons is averaging 10.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game and ranks seventh in the nation in total blocks (73). His 73 blocks this season are a new program record at SRU, topping the former record of 68 that stood for 27 years after Kevin Jones set the mark in 1990-91. • Bruce Spruell ranks second on the team in scoring at 11.6 points per game and leads the PSAC West in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1) thanks to his 4.9 assists per game. • Merdic Green has scored 42 combined points in his last two games and is now averaging 10.1 points per game to give The Rock four players averaging double figures.
