ROCK TO START SEASON-ENDING ROAD TRIP AT EDINBORO • The Slippery Rock University women’s basketball team will begin the stretch run of its 2016-17 season Wednesday against Edinboro University at McComb Fieldhouse. • Slippery Rock defeated Edinboro 69-58 at Morrow Field House earlier in the season thanks to a stout defensive effort that held the Fighting Scots to a 31.6 field goal percentage. • Lexi Carpenter was dominant in The Rock’s win against Edinboro earlier in the season, scoring a career-high 35 points, grabbing five rebounds, passing out four assists and making three steals. C.C. Dixon added a near double-double of 11 points and seven rebounds as well. • A win against Edinboro would give Slippery Rock its first season sweep against the Fighting Scots since 2008-09 (eight years). • Brooke Hinderliter is a strong candidate for PSAC West Freshman of the Year. Hinderliter, a five-time PSAC West Freshman of the Week, has averaged 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game. In addition to ranking second among all PSAC freshmen in scoring, Hinderliter ranks seventh in the PSAC overall with 68 offensive rebounds. • Slippery Rock enters the Edinboro game leading the PSAC in free throw shooting percentage (.747) and ranked fourth in free throws made (401).
