Winter Weather: Please ensure your child comes to school with a warm, weatherproof coat. Should we get bad weather this winter, and a decision is made that we need to close the school, a message will be put on the school website and a text sent to parents. Please, therefore, ensure that we have your up-todate mobile telephone number/email address. Curriculum Newsletters: Each child should have brought home a copy of their curriculum newsletter for the Spring term. These are also available on the individual class pages on our website. This term’s topics are: Poplar/Ash: “Can we explore it?” Oak/Sycamore/Willow: “Street Detectives” Elm/Beech/Silver Birch: “Tremors” Chestnut/Maple: “Frozen Kingdoms” The RE newsletter for parents is now available on our website, go to: About us – Curriculum – RE. This term we will be learning about the following themes:   

Local Church (community) Eucharist (relating) Lent/Easter (giving)

Health: There are a few winter ‘bugs’ around at the moment. Please remember that if your child is unwell you need to telephone the office on the first morning to let us know and then, when they return to school, to provide a note saying why they were absent. In cases of vomiting illness, there needs to be at least 48 hours from the last bout before they can return to school. To avoid spreading any germs we remind all the children about the importance of handwashing and using the sanitisers as well as covering their mouths when coughing or sneezing with a tissue. And finally….. Our congratulations to Miss Hyttner who got engaged on New Year’s Eve. We look forward to hearing news about her wedding plans. Wishing you a good week,

Mrs Catherine Hunn - Headteacher
