BACKGROUND/HISTORY The Buda Public Library has offered many activities for the children of our community during the summer. These activities include summer reading clubs to incentivize continuous reading throughout the school break, weekly age-appropriate activities, and special performances that all ages can attend.

FINDINGS/CURRENT ACTIVITY This summer promises to be packed full of activities for children of all ages. The Summer Reading Clubs will kick-off with our celebration down at the City Park on Thursday, June 2nd. Teens will start their summer with a game night at the library on Friday, June 3rd. We’ll have three reading clubs again, for newborns through high schoolers. Registration for weekly programs began on Monday, May 16th. These programs begin the week of June 6th and conclude on July 30th.  Mondays – 2 sessions for 1st and 2nd graders  Tuesdays – Toddler Storytime, Family Storytime, and 2 sessions for 3rd – 5th graders  Wednesdays – Preschool Storytime and 1 class for students entering 6th grade and up.  Thursdays – Science Club for 3rd – 5th graders We’re also conducting several book clubs this summer for 3rd – 5th graders and 6th – 8th graders. We will host a time for high schoolers to come talk about books on their summer reading lists.

FINANCIAL IMPACT These activities are currently funded through the Library Special Revenue fund.
