The Lightning Bolt
The Lightning Bolt Date: 11/13/2016 General: On October 22 & 23, our organization held its first tournament. This tournament was a huge success, in part to all of our parent/player volunteers. We received several compliments from teams, spectators and park officials on how well the tournament was run. A big THANK YOU to all those that volunteered, without you none of it would have been possible. NEW THIS YEAR: Looking for more timely communication? Sign up on the LC Lightning website Home Page to receive announcements via email or text, just input your email address and/or phone number and select SUBSCRIBE. Any communication that is added to the website will automatically be sent to your email or phone. Team App: Will be using Team App again this year. This is a great app that allows for easier, more timely, communication. The app can be used on android and iPhones, just download the app (it is free) and then search for LC Lightning. Once you have our team, request access and you will have access to schedules, team line ups, news, live scores, and more.

Player Spotlight: 10U – Play for Pink (Athens, OH) Aubrey Brown – Aubrey had a Triple against Ohio Starz in a very competitive game. Congratulations Aubrey!!!!! Aubree Bellamy – Aubree had a great game pitching against the Ball Bratz. She gave up no hits, one walk and 7 strikeouts during the game. Great game Aubree!!!!! 10U – Fall Lightning Strikes (Heath, OH) Addy Zak – Addy turned an un-assisted double play in a game against the USSSA Pride. Congratulations Addy!!!!

The Lightning Bolt 11U – 12U – Fall Chiller (Berliner) Makayla Lama & Taylor Kistler – Makayla & Taylor each hit an inside the park Home Run in a very tight game with Central Ohio Ice 05. Congratulations Makayla & Taylor!!!! 12U – Fall Lightning Strikes (Heath, OH) Emma Bellamy – Emma had a great game on the mound against the MOJO Chics. She recorded 9 strikeouts in a game that ended up a tie. Great job Emma!!!! 14U – Fall Lightning Strikes (Heath, OH) Sydney Tinney – Sydney batted .300 in our first tournament of the new season, including hitting the first HR of the season for the 14u team in a 10-3 win over KAOS Fastpitch. Congratulations Sydney!!!! Sydney Zuelzke – Sydney also had a good tournament batting over .300 and had an on base percentage of almost .600. Congratulations Sydney!!!! 16U – Central OH Fall Classic (Whitehall, OH) & Fall Lightning Strikes (Heath, OH) Reghan Benschoter - Reghan batted .571 (8/14) , including a double and two home runs. She had an OBP of .600 and a whopping 1.671 OPS. She scored six runs and knocked in 6 during our two fall tournaments. Most impressively was her .800 batting average with runners in scoring position. Defensively, Reghan catches and plays both corner infield spots. She had a 1.000 fielding percentage for the fall. Reghan worked hard during practice and put in extra time working on her hitting which really showed off in Heath. This is Reghan's second season playing with LC Lightning. Reghan plays in the spring for Granville HS, where she is a sophomore. 16U – Central OH Fall Classic (Whitehall, OH) & Fall Lightning Strikes (Heath, OH) Emily Meidl - Emily batted .545 (6/11), including a double and two home runs. She had an on base % of .615 and a 1.182 slugging % leading to an OPS of 1.797. She had 6 RBI and scored six runs. Defensively, she plays corner outfield spots and plays both corner infield spots. Emily did a great job of giving extra effort in backing up plays from the corner OF spots and did a very good job of communicating and talking while in the OF. She has really put in the extra effort to become a good hitter and hit with two strikes. Emily plays in the spring for Licking Heights HS, where she is a sophomore.
