• The Shocksheet Meet our Head Coaches

Hello Shockwaves! My name is Coach Almanza and I am the coach for the 11 and up Shockwaves. I began swimming at the age of 3, and began swimming competitively in Jr. High and high school. I began coaching high school swimming in 2009 at Cypress Woods High School. While there, I helped coach two state champions and one Olympian. I have been the head coach at Tomball Memorial High School for the last 3 years, where we've made a tradition of going to state each year. I'm also a mom of two rambunctious toddlers, three-year-old Grayson and two-year-old Tomas. I’m also the wife of 10 years to my incredibly supportive husband Daniel. I'm so excited to be returning to the Shockwaves, and am ready for another great season!

HOWDY! My name is Coach Kaiser, and I am the Head Coach of the 10 & Under Shockwaves. I began swimming competitively at the age of four, and I continued swimming in the Northwest Aquatic League for 14 years. In the summer of 1999, I started coaching in NWAL, and I coached with the same team for 12 years before my family and I moved to Tomball. This year is my third year as the Assistant Swim Coach at Tomball Memorial High School, where I also teach 10th and 11th grade English. I am also the mom of two energetic girls, ages 9 and 4, and the wife of almost 14 years to my husband Scott, whom I met while at school at Texas A & M University (WHOOP!). During my summer spare time, I combine my two passions and enjoy reading by the pool. I'm looking forward to an exciting and fun season with the Shockwaves!

Team Suits The Shockwaves are moving to a “forever” team suit. The new suit will be black with a Shockwaves logo, and available with thin or thick straps. This will be the suit we plan on using for years to come so whenever you need a new suit, this will be the one you purchase or pass down. Because we are in the 2nd year of a two-year suit we are allowing two options this year. OPTION 1: Purchase or wear last year’s design, the Solar Strobe. This will be the final year we wear this design. OPTION 2: Go ahead and buy the "forever" suit this year. All swimmers will switch to this suit in 2017, the design will not change. If you choose this suit your swimmer MUST go to D&J Sports for a fitting by APRIL 27th. All swimmers are required to wear one of the team suits for all meets. Female swimmers are also required to wear an official Shockwaves swim cap. Please do not wear your team suit to practices. D&J Sports is located at 11407 Spring Cypress Rd., (281) 370-7946. On April 27th D & J will be at the VNP clubhouse during all practices to offer a last fitting for anyone that couldn't make it to their shop. This will be the last opportunity to order a suit and have it in time for time trials.

Registration Checks If you did not pay your registration online, please bring a check to practice and give it to any board member. Also due are the volunteer checks which can also be given to a board member. Remember, we need your volunteer hours, not your money!

Team Pictures A photographer will be at the pool on May 9th for individual and team pictures. More information soon!
