TIP of the WEEK

This week’s tip deals with 2-4 Transfers and what must be turned in to Mrs. Stephanie.

Connor MacLeod was a nonqualifier and is currently a student at a two-year college. Connor is, well, a highlander, and Radford University’s head golf coach began recruiting him during his second year at Immortal U. Connor has decided to transfer to Radford University after he graduates from his two-year school. What documents must RU’s head golf coach turn in to Radford’s Assistant A.D. for Student-Athlete Support Services, Mrs. Stephanie?

ANSWER The coach must turn in 3 items to Mrs. Stephanie. They are: 1. The appropriate Transfer Certification Form (4-4, 2-4, or 4-2-4) with the top portion of the form completed. These forms can be found in the Coaches section of the RU Compliance webpage. In this case, RU’s coach would submit a 2-4 Transfer Certification Form. 2. Transcripts from the student’s previous school(s). In this case, RU’s coach would submit Connor’s transcript from his two-year school. 3. Course descriptions for the classes the student has taken. In this case, RU’s coach would submit course descriptions for the classes that Connor took at his two-year school. * The next page summarizes the new two-year college transfer standards that will be effective August 1, 2012.
