In this class each student will make one 18” diameter Tuffet. A KIT of upholstery foam, plywood round, tee-‐nuts, 2 ½” button form and 1 yard of upholstery batting and four bun feet will be available for purchase at the first class for a $90 fee which includes your choice of feet. Please write your check to Sharyn Cole. Required Supplies: (1st class) 1. Tuffet Source 18” Tuffet Pattern with included foundation – available at Thimble Pleasures 2. 1 yard low thread count muslin – available at Thimble Pleasures Before class – press the fusible interfacing included with the pattern onto one yard of muslin. Cut all eight panels out and bring to the first class. 1. 2/3 yard focus fabric, cut into 4 – 5 ½” Width Of Fabric strips 2. ½ yard coordinating fabric, cut into 4 – 3 ½” Width Of Fabric strips 3. 1/3 yard additional coordinating fabric, cut into 4 – 2 ½” Width Of Fabric strips 4. 1/3 yard another additional coordinating fabric, cut into 4 – 2 ½” Width Of Fabric strips 5. Bring to class – instruction booklet, 8 foundations on muslin, fabric strips 6. Sewing Machine in good working order with a zigzag stitch. Please check your machine manual beforehand and review how to increase the width and length of your machine’s zigzag stitch. Always bring your sewing machine manual to class. 7. Neutral color thread that coordinates well with most of your fabric 8. Straight Pins 9. Rotary cutter with a sharp blade and mat 10. Add-‐A-‐Quarter Ruler (highly recommended) – 12” works best Supplies: (2nd class) We will talk about these in the first class. 1. 6” square of coordinating fabric to cover the button. 2. 18” square of coordinating fabric for the bottom of the tuffet. 3. Optional Accessories: Beads, Piping, Ruffles or Gimp Braid. All your supplies are available from Thimble Pleasures or Tuffet Source.
