Game Notes FIRST PITCH Riding a six-game winning streak, Gettysburg continues its four-game homestand as it takes on the Penn State York Lions in a non-conference affair. ALL-TIME SERIES The Bullets lead Penn State York 6-0 in the all-time series that started in 2010. LAST TIME OUT Senior Chase Stopyra fired a three-hit, nine-inning shutout while junior Chuck Probst went 4-for-4 with a double and a triple to lead the Bullets to a 10-0 victory over Penn State Altoona here at Kirchhoff Field yesterday in the team’s home opener. The Bullets, who won their sixth game in a row, captured their home opener for the fourth straight season. It was the longest career outing and the first career shutout for Stopyra, who faced just two batters over the minimum. It was also the first nine-inning shutout by a Bullet since Eric Hungerford ’15 tossed a six-hitter versus Dickinson on April 7, 2015. After retiring the first nine batters of the game, Stopyra yielded just three singles and a walk while striking out a career-high seven. Stopyra was backed by an error-less defense to go with a 14hit attack. Leading the way was Probst, who posted his career-high for hits while stretching his hitting streak to 17 games, dating back to last season. Eight of nine starters hit safely for the Bullets, including freshman Tate Frodsham, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBIs and a double, and senior J.J. Lucido, who was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs. PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Senior catcher Will Anderson and junior pitcher Brad DeMartino were honored by the Centennial Conference for their performances over the last eight games of the team’s Spring Break trip to Florida last week. Anderson was selected as the CC Co-Player of the Week while DeMartino was tabbed as the conference’s Pitcher of the Week. In addition, Anderson landed a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. He batted .542 and slugged .958 over the final eight games in Florida, helping the Bullets go 6-2 over the stretch. He smacked a double, three triples, and a home run, and he also piled up 10 runs and nine RBIs. He was even better during the team’s five-game winning streak to end the week, batting 10-for-15 with nine runs and seven RBIs. Defensively, he threw out two of three would-be base stealers for the week. DeMartino registered an outstanding season debut, tossing seven shutout innings
