Men’s Opening Serve Gettysburg makes its spring and Centennial debut today against Ursinus. The Series Gettysburg leads the all-time series against Ursinus 21-7. The Bears have won the last five meetings with all but one resulting in 8-1 decisions. Last Meeting Ursinus topped Gettysburg 8-1 last season. Gettysburg’s lone win came at second doubles where Kevin DeRosa ’17 and Kevin Maier ’19 posted a 9-8 (7-4) win. Both Maier and Andrew Corwin ’19 lost in tiebreaks at fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Last Time Out Gettysburg defeated Shepherd 6-3 in early October. The Bullets took a 2-1 lead in doubles with wins by junior Kevin Maier and freshman Tommy Gilio at No. 2 and freshman Henry Pletcher and sophomore Jacob Meehan at No. 3. Gettysburg came away with straight-set wins by Maier at No. 3 (6-2, 6-1), Gilio at No. 4 (6-3, 6-4), Pletcher at No. 5 (6-2, 6-0), and freshman Aidan Kennedy at No. 6 (6-1, 6-1). Scouting Ursinus... Ursinus has dropped its last three matches, including 9-0 setbacks to Franklin & Marshall and No. 21 Swarthmore in conference play. Max Oberholtzer is tied for the team in lead in wins with a record of 7-4, including 6-3 at the top poisition. Mason Groff and Peter Shields are perfect (6-0) at No. 2 doubles.

Women’s Opening Serve The Bullets look for their first conference win in their spring home debut today against Ursinus. The Series The Bullets hold a 23-5 advantage in a series that began in 1975. The Bears have won three of the last four and the teams have split 5-4 decisions in the last two seasons. Last Meeting Ursinus won four singles matches in straightsets to seal a 5-4 win over Gettysburg last season. The Bullets took the early lead with a pair of wins in doubles, including a 9-7 decision by Gillian Minnerly ’17 and Samantha Boardman ’20 at No. 2. Boardman tallied a 6-3, 6-4 win at third singles and Emily Lutz ’18 picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 6. Last Time Out Gettysburg was upended by nationally-ranked Swarthmore 9-0 on Mach 24. Seniors Erica Paul and Erin Sweeney dropped an 8-2 decision at third doubles, while freshman Amanda Vinges was handed her first singles loss 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3. Scouting Ursinus... The Bears have dropped their last two matches in conference play to Franklin & Marshall (8-1) and No. 40 Swarthmore (9-0). Ashley Nguyen accounted for the lone win against F&M with a 6-2, 7-5 win at second singles.
