Today's Game Gettysburg looks for its first Centennial victory of the season today against Washington. All-Time Series Gettysburg holds a 16-9 edge over Washington in the all-time series. The Shorewomen have won five of the last six meetings, including each of the last three. Last Meeting Washington broke a 2-2 tie with a pair of goals in the final eight minutes in last season's meeting with Gettysburg. Trailing 2-1 at the break, the Bullets tied the contest 55 seconds into the final period when Alex Calder ’16 blasted a shot into the cage following a pass by Kathryn Hardman ’17. Elizabeth Davis had a hand in the final two goals for the Shorewomen, assisting on the first in the 63rd minute and scoring the second in the 66th minute. Gettysburg out-shot Washington 22-9, while the Shorewomen held a 10-8 edge in penalty corners. Last Time Out Gettysburg dropped a 5-1 decision at Dickinson this past Wednesday. The Bullets tied the game on a goal by senior Hannah Fitzgerald in the 10th minute, but the Red Devils scored twice more before halftime to surge back in front. Shots were even at 16 apiece, while Gettysburg held an 8-7 advantage in penalty corners. Junior Haley Mowery posted six saves and senior Nina Diamond added her teambest fourth defensive save.
Moving On Up Senior Hannah Fitzgerald is tied for the team lead in points (12) and goals (5) this season. She has climbed into a tie for seventh on the program's career scoring list with 76 points. Fitzgerald is also tied for ninth all-time with 28 goals and she is tied for third in career assists with 20. She is one of only four Bullets to reach both 20 career goals and 20 career assists. Centennial Leader Gettysburg leads the conference in goals per game (4.6) and assists (15). The team is second overall with 23 goals scored this fall. Last Line of Defense Senior Nina Diamond has nearly equalled her career defensive saves total this season alone. Diamond has posted four defensive saves this fall, giving her nine total for her career. She ranks third in the conference in defensive saves. Scouting Washington... • Washington was defeated by Washington & Lee 2-0 last time out. The Generals out-shot the Shorewomen 20-11 and held a slight 8-7 lead in penalty corners. Morgan Domanico played all 70 minutes in goal for Washington and posted eight saves. Elizabeth Davis paced the offense with four shots.
