REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY Poppies are now on sale in school.
PARENTS OPEN EVENING We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 15 November 2016, between 4.00 pm – 5.30 pm. This is an opportunity for you to come into school with your child/ren to look at their work, have a look around the school and talk informally to the class teacher. This includes the Nursery.
Would you please check that all the information on the form is correct and return it to school by Wednesday 9 November 2016. The default setting was automatically set to NO for Permission to Administer First Aid and Permission to Call a Doctor, please note we would administer first aid and call a doctor in the event of an emergency. This has now been amended for letters in the future
PHOTOGRAPHS You should have received a preview portrait of your child’s photograph. Please send your orders in to school by Monday 14 November 2016 at the very latest.
RESIDENTIAL VISIT TO WHITE HALL If you have not already done so, could you please send the next instalment of £50.00 for the visit to White Hall by tomorrow Friday 4 November 2016. Cheques should be made payable to Highfield Hall Primary School. Thank you.
WINTER WONDERLAND Due to the poor response for helpers at the Winter Wonderland we have had to cancel this event.
CHOIR The choir this week were amazing at rehearsal! Well done-it’s obvious they’ve been practising over half term! We will be starting after school choir to learn dance moves NEXT MONDAY, and your child should have brought home a letter with a permission slip for you to fill in - please get this back to me as soon as you can. The rehearsals will be until 4.30pm in Nursery. If you still require tickets for the event in Sheffield, please get your order to school by Friday 11 November 2016. Some children have said that their parents won’t be attending the performance at the Arena-if this is the case don’t worry! The children can still all come and will still have a great time! Thank you for all your support. Sally Briddon
BAGS 2 SCHOOL We have organised another Bags 2 School collection on Friday 25 November 2016. With this newsletter you will have received a donation bag to collect any clean re-usable clothes, it will be collected in the main entrance from 3.15 pm on Thursday 24 November 2016 and up to 9.00 am on Friday 25 November 2016. They also recycle hats, belts, bags, soft toys and shoes (please tie together in pairs). Please note they will not accept any school uniform or work clothes with logos. Please ask grandparents, family, friends and neighbours to donate too. Please DO NOT send any bags into school before the date as we have nowhere to store them. Any money raised will be used to benefit our children Thank you for your support.
. HEADLICE There are unfortunately some cases of headlice in school again. The advice is to use conditioner and the wet hair combing method daily as a preventative measure. Then if insecticide treatment is needed follow the manufacturer’s instructions and repeat the treatment after one week. Please remain vigilant, check your child’s hair regularly and take immediate action if you find headlice so that the problem does not spread to other children. Fastening long hair back would also help to minimise the problem.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY Due to the Year 6 secondary school transition days we have had to swap the days of the sports days. The Juniors will now take place at 9.45 am on Tuesday 4 July 2017 and the Infants will be on Wednesday 5 July 2017 at 9.45 am. Please note this is different from the dates on the Dates Card.
