    We had a blast celebrating students who are on track to College  Readiness at Field Day today! Finish Strong!   

Student End-of-Year Check Out  ● All school property must be returned by next Friday, May 25.​ If a student does not  turn in the applicable items below, their report card may be held.  ○ eStem ID Badge & Lanyard Collection​: ​All eStem ID badges & lanyards will be  collected next Thursday and Friday, May 24-25. ​If your student does not have their  ID badge, their report card may be held until the replacement fee of $5 is paid to the  front office. ​ These items will be redistributed next school year.  We are Students.​ ​We are Educators.​ ​We are Fearless.​ ​We are eStem. 

○ Locker Check In​: All lockers must be cleaned out by 4:00 PM next Friday, May 25,  so please remember to bring a bag on Friday to take the items in your locker home  with you. ​Students must return their locks to the front office or they will be charged a  replacement fee​.  ○ Textbooks & Supplies​: All textbooks and other eHS supplies/materials are due  back to teachers by May 25.    ● The ​eHS Lost and Found​ box in the lobby will be cleaned out and donated to Goodwill  after Friday, May 25. Please check to ensure you have picked up any missing items.   

Review Week Attendance and Final Exams  ● Review week is next week, May 21-25  ○ All 10th & 11th grade students are required to attend Review Week.    ○ Students will receive their current semester grade in each course, so they will know  where they stand and if they are eligible for final exam exemption. Please email  the course teacher if you have questions about a student’s semester grade.  ○ There will be no club meetings or events during Review Week or Finals Week to  allow students to focus and study hard for their final exams!   ● Finals Week is May 29-June 1.  ○ Click here to view the Spring 2018 Final Exam Schedule.  ○ School will close at 12PM during finals.   ● Final Exam Exemption Policy:  ○ If a student has an “A” average in the class he/she will have the option to take the  exam for that class.   ○ If a student has below an “A” average in the class they will be required to take the  final exam.  ○ All AP students taking the AP exam are exempt from the spring semester final  exam. (All AP students are expected to take the AP exam.)  ○ Students enrolled in a concurrent credit class will follow the UA Little Rock final  exam policy.  ● Lunch During Review Week & Finals:  ○ Beginning May 21​st​ through the end of the school year, the Donaghey Student  Center will not be serving lunch from the Trojan Grill.   ○ Retail options (Taco Bell, Starbucks, and Pizza & Wings) will still be open.   ○ Mom’s Catering will continue to provide its school lunch options through June 1​st​ (the  last day of final exams).    ***IMPORTANT***​If your child will need a school lunch from Mom’s Catering during finals  week (May 29​th​ –June 1​st​), please have them sign up in the main office by Thursday, May  24th, so that we can ensure an accurate headcount. ​***IMPORTANT***    We are Students.​ ​We are Educators.​ ​We are Fearless.​ ​We are eStem.   

Summer School 2018  Notification letters will be mailed home with report cards the week of June 11th. Please note  that Summer School is for credit recovery only and will take place July 16 - August 3.   

Important Information for Seniors 

 

● Graduation is next Wednesday!!!   Click here for Graduation Details, including the agenda & dress code.  ● As the seniors are making their final college choices, we are wrapping up data collection  for college attendance and scholarships. The total amount of scholarship dollars accepted  for the entire class (as a group) is announced during the graduation ceremony.    ○ We need the following information for each senior ​ASAP:  ■ The name of the college or university you plan to attend, with an acceptance  letter for documentation, or other plans (military, gap year, etc.)  ■ The name(s) and amount(s) of all scholarships you intend to accept, with  letters for documentation  ■ You may provide this information to Ms. Rook or drop off the documents in  Mrs. Stacie Thompson’s office. If you have any questions or need help, feel  free to email ​[email protected]​.  

Student Council Elections  Elections for Student Council executive officer positions will be held next week, May 23-24, on  itsLearning. Each student will have one ballot, so please encourage them to make their voice  heard! Please note: Applications to run for office were extended to Thursday, May 17, at noon  due to AP Testing. Elections for class representatives will be held next semester.   

Transcript Requests - Temporary Hold  Due to processing and verification of senior final grades, there is a temporary hold on all  transcript requests. ​Seniors will receive a copy of their report card and transcript in their  graduation packet at graduation rehearsal the morning of May 23rd. ​ Sophomore & junior  transcript requests will be processed after May 23rd and distributed to students at the  earliest possible date. ​Thank you for your patience as we finalize records for our Class of  2018!    Counselor's Corner  ● Rising Senior Summer Toolkit​: Get a headstart on college applications & scholarships!  Ms. Rook, one of our College Readiness counselors, created an amazing resource for rising  seniors & parents to review in preparation for next year. ​Click here to check it out.  We are Students.​ ​We are Educators.​ ​We are Fearless.​ ​We are eStem.   

● Wednesday, May 23rd from 6:00-8:00pm ​at North Little Rock High School, Arkansas  Commitment will be hosting ​Pomona College and Yale University ​as they provide a ​FREE  college night ​for the families of Central Arkansas. Community Outreach 

 

● Ladies of Tomorrow Mentorship​ is hosting a financial workshop on June 9th at the  William Laman Library in NLR discussing credit scores, credit counseling, real-estate,  budgeting, and so much more. ​Click here for more information.   

Dress Code  As the weather continues to warm up, please keep the eHS dress code in mind when picking out  your spring attire. Any students who arrive to school who are not in dress code will be asked to  call home for a change of clothes. If parents are not available to bring a change of clothes, your  student will be given school-issued attire. ​Please remember that leggings, midriffs, exposed  shoulders, and bandanas are not permitted. We have received reports of students continuing to be dropped-off on  University Avenue. This intersection is EXTREMELY BUSY and VERY  DANGEROUS! Please follow the appropriate arrival and dismissal  procedures approved by the school. eHS Food Closet  We are creating an eHS Food Closet to help best serve our students not only at school, but also  at home in times of need. There is an ongoing donation box in the front office where you may  bring any non-perishable items you would like to contribute. Please reach out to  [email protected]​ if you have any questions or know any eHS families that  may benefit from this new program.  Examples of Non-Perishable Items to Donate:  Peanut butter  Jelly  Pasta sauce  Canned vegetables  Canned fruit  Canned soup  Mac and cheese  Raviolis 

Cans of tuna or chicken  Muffin mix  Rice  Spaghetti  Instant oatmeal  Ramen-style noodles  Instant potatoes  Canned baby formula/food  

*We will also accept specialty items  such as toothpaste, toothbrushes,  and feminine & male hygiene  products. 

         

        Mets Action  ● If you would like to become an ​official sponsor for eStem Athletics,​ please see the  sponsorship packet form which is included on the Athletics tab of the website.  ● Are you interested in a chance to win a ​Series 3 Apple Watch​? If so, consider buying  tickets for this year’s Booster Club Raffle. These can be purchased at various prices, and  the winner will be announced at the High School Athletic Banquet this month. The winner  does not have to be present at the banquet to claim their prize. eHS Tool Kit  ★ If your child will be absent​, please make sure to email ​[email protected]  to let us know!  ★ If you have an address, email, or phone number change​, please email those changes to  [email protected]​. This helps us keep our records as up-to-date as  possible.  ★ Parents and visitors, please stop and check in ​with our Campus Access Officer, Ms. Paul,  if you need to submit any forms, drop something off for your child or check a student out  for an appointment. All visitors will need to bring their license so that they can receive a  visitor’s badge.
