OPENING THE DISCUSSION -Book Discussion: “Befriend” Scott Sauls -Chapter 4- “Befriend Prodigals and Pharisees” -Summary of chapter- “The narrow path of Jesus demands the widest embrace. The more attuned our hearts are to his, the more hope we will have for and the more love we will extend to the prodigals and Pharisees in our midst.” Pg. 33 -What was your “ONE THING” from Chapter 4?

DIGGING DEEPER -How would you define “prodigal” and “Pharisee.” -With whom do you identify the most--- the law-Pharisee or the grace-Pharisee? -What would motivate you to show love to people you are tempted to judge the most? What would be your first step? -Read: Luke 15:1-7, 25-32- What does this parable show us through the two brothers and the father? -How does the gospel affect our love for the “prodigals and the Pharisees ”?
MAKING APPLICATIONS -How does all of this stir the affections of your heart for Christ? -What is your take-a-way or truth to apply?
