WPX Energy specializes in producing natural gas, oil and natural gas liquids from non-conventional resources such as tight-sands and shale formations. We have three decades of experience in our industry.
We’re based in Tulsa, Okla., with a regional office in Denver. Highlights include:
At year-end 2013, we had total proved reserves of 4.90 trillion cubic feet equivalent. We also have more than 16,000 remaining drillable locations in the U.S. on a gross basis.
•E xpected capital spending of $1.6 billion in 2014 •M ore than half of our 2014 planned investments are in oil properties • Plans to run 16 rigs for remainder of 2014 •G rew our Bakken oil volumes by 39% in 2013
Today, we produce nearly 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day.

During the second quarter, oil and NGL sales also accounted for 47 percent of our total product revenues. We produced more than 47,000 barrels per day of these liquids.
•O ur Niobrara Shale discovery well has already produced 2.7 Bcf of natural gas
Previously, WPX Energy was a wholly owned subsidiary of Williams. We became a separate, independent company at year-end 2011.
