Highlights
WPX Energy specializes in producing natural gas, natural gas liquids and oil from non-conventional resources such as tight-sands and shale formations.
•O ur 4Q 2012 daily production in the state was 71 million cubic feet per day
We were previously a wholly owned subsidiary of Williams. We became a separate, independent company at year-end 2011.
•W e expect to grow our Marcellus Shale production by 75- 80 percent in 2013
Our Local Story We employ more than 55 people at our offices in Canonsburg and Nicholson – many of whom are Pennsylvania natives, such as our regulatory manager. Our staff oversees operations across 114,000 net acres in the state. Our current activity is focused in Westmoreland and Susquehanna counties. We entered the state’s Marcellus Shale play in June 2009. We now have an interest in more than 100 natural gas wells.
•O ur full-year 2012 production increased more than 300 percent vs. 2011
•W e completed more than 50 new wells in 2012 on a gross basis •W e reduced our completion costs by 46 percent during 2011 and 2012 •W e recycle our frac water and produced water to re-use at other drilling sites •Y ou can see our hydraulic fracturing disclosures at www.fracfocus.org •W e have never had a lost-time accident (LTA) in Pennsylvania • S upporters of St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, Ligonier Valley YMCA, Nicholson Fire Co., WPSU Raising Readers Program, Endless Mountain Health Systems, Derry Township water pump project, among others
