At first, you may have to buy these yourself so it would be a good idea to try obtaining it for free or perhaps returning it, as some of these items could cost 100s of dollars. You can get away with buying one or two items, but generally you want to aim for as many as you can as it will provide you with much more needed info.

Finding scholarly articles could be very difficult, as many of them are owned by a single company who charges upwards of $10.000 a year and on top of that, make buying them very difficult. This doesn’t mean you can’t get access to them easily.
The first method you could try is finding someone or getting a friend who has access to Lexis-Nexus, many law firms and newspapers have this and if this doesn’t work, you could reach out to current college students and inquire about it.
Many universities have a great collection of scholarly publications, so you could have a student download any articles that you need in a very short time, and have them sent over for you.

Clickbank Product Whatever marketing platform you use to buy your material from, you want to make notes on the upsell tree (what products and bonuses they add behind the main product) and take screenshots or download the sales page as part of the marketing material to provide your client with. They will be very happy with this because many of them actually buy it themselves to study the copywriting and to have the market research done. When looking at clickbank products, you don’t have to allocate a big budget to it, as long as you can look at the up-sales and downsales, you can get the basic idea for what the content is. Reading Now it’s time to fill properly fill out your mind map and there are two ways of doing this. You can make notes on your mindmap whilst doing your research or makes notes after you read a compilation of every material that you compiled from 10+ books and sales materials. The second process is usually the longest and can be problematic as its easier to lose notes and ideas. You can read on your computer and copy and paste but make sure you only do that into your notes and not in the final draft. You do not want to face yourself with plagiarism accusations and possible legal action later on. Be careful and try to avoid this process by putting your notes in your outlining process.
Fast and Loose Having your notes all fast and loose is a good thing! You don’t want to follow the order of someone else’s book because each of them will have its own order of how they do things. It will be easier to change the order because there will be so many ideas and content. It’s ecause of this your research will be a little bit wild.

Impressing your Audience You want to impress your audience, and doing the following will be great for that. You must try to aim to read at least scholarly articles that are less than 3 years old and put any key facts, quotes, statistics and any other info into a file. When you are ready, you can insert them into sections of your book. Even if you are doing copywriting or any similar small project, having great articles you can quote and reference is very valuable to you. Doing this will raise your value and you will impress both your audience and your clients, which in turn can mean a higher price for your services because clients will not have to go and proofread, check and do other things to your work. You could get away with using 3 or so but aiming for 10 scholarly articles is the best.
Negative Research Usually, negative reviews will tell you more than positive review will, in terms of what needs to be added. You will want to go and look at negative reviews in your niche, and try to pick out any repeating themes i.e. your book doesn’t have a section on X. By doing research on that single question and finding what needs to be added, you can then add it to your content. This way you can protect yourself and add something new. Don’t let the process get to daunting at first, and once you get the research element down, you could look into hiring other people to be your virtual assistant, who would be able to do the research for you. Activity For the activity, you can try to fill out your deeper mind map. You want to at least get 2 or 3 layers deep and really flesh it out.
