Goals • 18th Street N. should be considered a street, with its principal purpose being transportation • 18th Street N. should appear and perform as a public street regardless of ownership (fee or easement) • A successful 18th Street N. should contain the following: – a visual connection between blocks – a direct alignment – a coordinated design concept
• 18th Street N. should maintain a strong street wall • Considering topographical challenges of individual blocks, certain segments of 18th Street N. may be provided without vehicular access – pedestrian focused staired streets may be appropriate on certain blocks 5
