So many cool enjoyable days...kinda makes you miss your sewing machine, huh? Well, we’ve got some things to get you back in the sewing mood starting with our Annual Garage Sale! Sept. 5, 6, and 7th we will have the tent up with lots of bargains outside and the sale fabric on the bolt set up in the classroom. We have a LOT of great product to choose from this year so don’t miss out! Our Fall bus trip is in October with seven other shops in Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois. Catch the bus here at Merry’s for a two day, one night excursion. We’ll have some fun prizes and games along the way, too! Don’t delay — our bus is filling up fast! November will be busy with our After Market Shindig and the One Stop Shopping Spree in Clear Lake. Our Return the Favor Sew Days continue to be a fun time to gather with quilting friends and share your talents. We gather each month on the second Tuesday of the month. Bring a dish to share for our potluck lunch. The Retreat Center is bustling this fall as well with lots of gals enjoying relaxing days of sewing and visiting. Dates for 2015 are filling up, so if you want to make a reservation, call us right away. We have some classes this fall for beginners and to learn some techniques such as machine quilting and hand appliqué. If you have a group that would like a special class, just let us know! We’d be happy to spend a day sharing our skills with you. Remember our free wool class on the second Tuesday of each month from 1 to 3 PM. Lots of new fabrics will find their way into the shop this fall and new samples continue to grace our walls. We will be back with a Buck-A-Block program starting in January 2015 and a new set of Monthly Mini’s. The Simple Whatnots Club from Kim Diehl is a popular program for you fabric collectors. Our Valdani Hand Dyed Pearl Cottons continue to expand and we’ll have another new Wool Block of the Month in 2015 as well! Oh, and have you tried the new Hiroshima needles? Just fabulous to stitch with! Please note the shop will be closed on Thanksgiving and note the days we will be closed over Christmas. Remember to ask Santa for a gift certificate from Merry’s this year! See you soon!
