About the Project §  Species: Sardine, Sardina pilchardus §  Mixed fishery for six small pelagic species (sardine, mackerel, anchovy, sardinella and two species of horse mackerel) §  FAO 34 – Northern and central stock (A +B) and southern stock (zone)

Workplan §  Management plan for the central zone stock §  More responsive harvest control rules for the southern zone stocks §  Analysis of observer reports from the foreign vessels §  Data gathering on discards and interactions with endangered species for the Moroccan fleet §  (Management actions to reduce discards / endangered species interactions, if required – no actions foreseen for Year 1) §  Availability of data

Action points §  Establishment of sub-working groups – responsible for implementing specific actions for that activity §  The overall group of participants will be kept up-to-date by the coordinators, and in regular meetings of the full group §  An FIP steering committee (industry) takes charge of the administrative and budgetary aspects of the project
