Upper Division: Peter: Season going great so far, Playoffs will be November 16/17 weekend, with lead in games for U16 during the week. Medals ordered for UD play and play through. Will be moving games from Rosemead park due to set up difficulties.
Referee Report: Scott
We have played 60 games, 183 referee slots and 3 open so far this season. Problems have been at Rosemead Park and Live Oak with getting coverage. Average .8 cautions per game 7 send offs, DOGSO being more of a problem than usual. Seems to be a trend, when player is sent off, player feels they have license to then berate the referee and other players as they leave. No feedback on the referees via Area 1C website! Assessment: Please 2 weeks’ notice for Advanced assessment and 3 weeks for National. Please ask early as it is hard to find an assessor. Advanced class being held October 3/5th in Upland, Fri and Sunday. 908 hosting a regional class – Bi-lingual, Mon & Tuesday. No coach and spectator warnings or ejections which is a good thing. 214 not stepping up to help with referee assignments.
Financial Report: Frank
See attached financial statements Will invoice for Area player fees on Oct 31st, Jane to pull numbers, so make sure you process your drops by then.
Interlocking:
Issues with 908 not covering their referee assignments, Dave spoken to coaches to make sure it does not continue to happen. Lisa says Shiverly is working well for U10 and U12 interlocking. Had problem with Region 2 teams not showing up. At Madrid, goals need to be pulled out of the bin and then put away at last game, ordered some bags for goals to make this easier. No more referee abuse. 98 asks that last game of day at Oak Ave school, pack up goals and vacate field as soon as possible, as custodian is waiting to lock up. 60 has no issues 1304- Teams not showing with enough players and coming late, especially in GU14.
Area Report: Jane
We will be hosting the roadshow again this year, Section wanted to move, but a lot of surrounding Areas like it in Arcadia. Have talked to Frances about a different fee for Area 1C participants. Need to discuss further. Term expirations; Please make sure your position is advertised and elections are done 3 months ahead of time, so that new RCs can be elected and approved in good time. Please make sure your Accounts payable with National stay under 60 days past due. Region 214 and Area 1C hit it this month. Ouch RAP- still have 40 outstanding.
All-stars: Section still trying to find a location for all-stars as Riverside not available.
Regional Reports; Please find attached those regions that reported this week. Thank you.
Additional Comments:
Aldo mentions that they have really had to make a stand on no-exceptions within the region especially as they are so large. Discussion on playing up and who to allow and not. Who makes that decision?
New Business:
Marco brought to everyone’s attention about Vicki, long time volunteer and Area and Section level. Lisa made motion: Donate money to help off set medical expenses in the amount of $2000. Aldo seconded, all approved. Thank you Marco.

Region 88 - Aldo We’re entering Week 4. Upper Division teams have been playing weekday and weekend games. Biggest issue with weekday UD games is Advanced and National referees are signing up for games before the Referee Scheduler makes them available to them (great problem to have). No Opening Day ceremony this year for the first time in probably 20 years and not a single complaint about it. 64 VIP Players now playing on turf field for the first time. 3596 total players signed up, some still coming in. Completed our 7th and final set of coaching and Safe Haven clinics this past weekend. 560 certifications issued. Region 214 - Maurice Opening day took place September 13 Photo day took place September 20th both events went very smoothly 2000 kids playing. Working on refunds to families that did not make teams Working on addressing better communicating with families about registering earlier and volunteering Shoring up and training volunteers for painting over lines that were professionally painted previously We're also looking at positions that are coming up at the end of their 2 year periods Though we are under budget and on track making adjustments since the number of registrations which we based the budget on was less than what we currently have enrolled We will be meeting again separately as an executive board for suggestions to the General Board about ways to improve registration next year
Region 1304 - Sandy Opening Day Saturday, September 6, 2014. Dole donated #250 fruit squishems and were handed out after opening. Cancelled practice on a Tuesday due to heat in September. Region 98- Dave Season started on the September 6th 172 volunteers Everything running fairly smoothly, had some issue with Coaches and referees, unfortunately always the case no matter how many times you tell them about the ZERO tolerance Parent complaints about Jamboree needing to be more of a competitive atmosphere…Told them to join Karate We interlocked with El Monte, Boyle heights, San Gabriel – Seems to be going some what smoothly – Need to work on "Next Game Referee assignments" Soccerfest – Closing ceremonies are set for November 15th
