Area Meeting Minutes January 27th, 2016 Meeting Opening 7:00 Introductions Referee Report: Scott All‐star Team Ref reports were past out to each region with issues. There was only about 8 missed assignments out of 150 games, numbers of no shows have been very minimal. Upper division dinner for March 5th or March 12th Sent out an email request to RRA’s looking for ref’s for Riverside on 2/20, 2/21, & 2/27, 2/28. Anyone looking to do assessments please contact Bruce Hancock asap Treasurers Report: Absent League Play‐thru and All‐stars: Craig All‐stars Working on: getting referee info into a systematic format and having it attached to coaches form. Sent out schedule Big thank to Scott and John for the help! League Play‐thru went smoothly, few behavioral issues. YDP – Marco Calendar – See attached Sticking to deadlines Limiting Divisions Outside teams? Upper Division – By Feb 7th get numbers to Marco to see what spots need to be filled Lower – Must have blue flight before you can have a red flight team Coach Admin ‐ Report Road show Area 1C had a great turn out!!!! Let Jane know if something is not showing up in eayso on completed courses from the roadshow. Extra West Circuit Playoffs– John Mass Hours 8‐3 17 matches Saturday 20 matches Sunday Area Report‐ EXTRA‐ Regions will only be allowed to do Extra teams as long as it does not impact your fall season. Area will run a Extra program for the smaller regions if interested please contact Jane. Section One will be rolling out AYSO Club on 2017. Ayso is joining the club circuit, but your region must participate in the extra program before being able to play the club circuit. Start working on your addendums to procedures and protocols. Blue Sombrero will be the New EAYSO Blue Sombrero classes will be held at the Expo Shooting to go live with Blue Sombrero in summertime. Will be moving Area website over. Management ‐ With boards turning over now and new incoming members possibly needing training, please let Yesenia know, so that we can get some training courses on calendar. National Game Deadlines Feb 1st – roster Start thinking about exception player forms Looking at raising around $2000 per player to go. Regions who are late with their team counts or qualifying referees are not guaranteed a spot.) Region 2 – Peter Smock We are having YDP registration on the 30th. Annual volunteer appreciation dinner will be Friday night, January 29. Grad series is underway. We will probably enter three teams in Extra for the fall season. They would be GU‐ 13 an 11 and BU‐10. We have 510 players in all‐star/region star program. We have two boy's teams going to National Games: U‐10 and U‐14. A BU‐12 team is attempting to enter on the open draw. My successor will be attending Thursday so be nice. Region 13 – Al Prado Not much going on this month · 350 kids playing all‐stars… · YDP registration from 1/25 until 2/8 · 1 team, as of now, going to National games, BU16 · Setting up coach and ref training for fall · Beginning to work on the RAP · Looking at the new P&P’s and adding R13 customizations o 3 qtr playtime o 2 qtr max on U10 goal keepers Thanks Region 60 ‐ Rolando ‐Working with city of Alhambra and school district to secure fields for YDP (keep fingers crossed) ‐Board Thank You dinner is Sat 1/30 ‐Will begin nomination process for the 2016/17 board next week ‐All Stars going relatively smoothly ‐Two teams (Boys and girls U10) going to LPT Playoffs in Riverside ‐ entering my 6th and FINAL year as RC!!! Region 88 ‐ Aldo
We are signing up players for Graduation Series, YDP, and even fall season. Registrations for the first two are lower than last year at this time (many of our folks procrastinate). Today we signed up the oldest VIP player we’ve ever had: he’ll be 40 in July. 177 head coaches and 90 assistant coaches have confirmed for the fall season. Working on getting everyone certified, including Concussion Awareness Training. Will make a big push to get team coordinators Safe Haven certified this year. See you all Thursday.
Region 98 – Dave Lemos – Looks like our Board Slate is full including a new ARC which you will be seeing tonight cause next year he will be the MAN! – All Stars practice fields were tough to find but Peter helped us out (Thank you) Seems to be going smoothly – Getting ready for our Annual Camellia Festival Taco Booth, come support us Feb 26‐27 – We have two teams going to Nationals BU12 and GU16 – First Fall Early Bird Registration is on March 12th – See you all Tonight

January 31st 2016 will be my last day as Regional Commissioner for AYSO Region 214. Our region will be in the very capable hands of John Mass, and while we have many talented and dedicated volunteers in our
region, I can't think of a better person than John to carry on with the work that was started 37 years ago It has been a privilege and honor to serve with all of you: working to make our soccer programs better, ensuring the sustainability of AYSO, and living up to the principles we stand by for the benefit of the families and children we serve. It has been both a fantastic and humbling experience; fantastic because of the great people I have gotten to work with, the families I have met, the goodwill that our region has developed with the city and school district and humbling: humbling in what it takes to do this job and do it well, humbling because of how hard the people around you are working who are rarely looking or asking for a thank you, but instead are almost always the ones who say "no problem..;‐)" and humbling when you meet the many families and children presently of a few years later say thank you, hi coach or they tell you of their latest success. You get to feel like you played some small part in their overall athletic experience and for that I am very grateful. I hope to continue on in some capacity serving the region or area. Thank you once again for your friendship and volunteer spirit. Look forward to seeing you soon and Play On! (See report below) Maurice Region 908 – Lisa Will have Region Calendar meeting this week. With budget meeting. Have 2 teams going to the National Games U12Boys and U14Girls, they have been fundraising at both Shively and Madrid. Please please support. Graduation games are coming a long. Kids are having a great time. Not to many problems. Most of my board will be attending EXPO in Ontario. Getting teams together for YDP, letting everyone know that "No Referee No Team!!! That's is all for now. See everyone there. Lisa Region 1304 – Sandy Participating in All‐Stars with 5 teams and coaches are helping with their referee
duties. Have to set a date for Volunteer Banquet in February along with board Took RC Training this past weekend. Thank you to the area and Jane for making it possible to attend. A lot information and thank you to all regions that help our region in BH 1304 possible with help offered. Working on YDP teams to confirm. Working on dates to make flyer for 2016 season registrations. Don't have an idea of how to work on a budget and how much it is to send all board members to the EXPO with training, rooms, transportation and other expenses? Or NAMG with expenses included for the budget coming up? Anyone have a sample I may have to work from and have an idea?
