AYSO Region 599 Board Meeting Minutes November 21, 2016 - 6:30pm Attendees: Officers - June McIvor (RC), Duane Hall (RRA), Heather Billing (Asst. RC), Laurie Grauel (Safety), Todd Cooper (CVPA), Nicholas Drews (Treasurer). Other Volunteers - Brad Dolezal (Equipment), David Marshall (AS Director). Guests: Maureen Halderman, Jose Albarran Officers Absent: Betty Bautista (Registrar), Maggie Browning (RCA)
Call to Order & Intro – June McIvor @ 6:30pm October 2016 Minutes – Motion by Todd Cooper and Second by Laurie Grauel. Unaminously approved by Board Officers present. Treasurer’s Report – Nick Drews o Heavy on expenses in the next month. Area and YSA fees are due. All is on track according to 2016/17 Budget. o All Star Income also coming in. All Stars – David Marshall o Coaches called and majority of teams selected last night. BU10C selected this morning, AS player selection process went late into the night. o Order for gear and uniforms placed today. Working on getting Coach practice field and tournament optout information. o Preparing for referee and parent meeting, sample sweats on order and should arrive before parent meeting. Surf N Turf 2017 – June McIvor o June needs to step down as Director. Heather has agreed to take over as Director of the SNT. o SNT Committee held first meeting in November. Members currently are Nik Drews, Val Monge, and Tina Self. Referees – Duane Hall o Had a center referee leave BU10 match due to spectator interference. Spectator was asked to leave to the parking lot. o Area Q coverage, Duane is waiting for what coverage is needed before he sends out request. Coaches – Maggie Browning (No Report) Registrar – Betty Bautista (No Report) Equipment – Brad Dolezal (No Report) Regional Commissioners’ Report – June McIvor & Heather Billing o EOS Tournament – Semis and Finals Rained out Sunday 11/20. Planned date 11/27 could also rainout. Discussed how to decide winners if Sunday is rained out. June looking into getting permit for Laguna to do PK’s, backup is cutting cards with just the Coaches at site to be determined. Duane to plan on referees for Kicks from the Mark. o Volunteer Dinner was successful. o City of SLO Council decided to rehab 8 City Fields which are used at times by AYSO to practice, Heather spoke at meeting on behalf of AYSO. o AYSO Expo March 3-5, 2017 Las Vegas o Board Report/Nominating Committee (Zack Self, Maureen Halderman, Heather Billing) o Heather to prepare 2017 Officer Slate in accordance with Regional Guidelines. Other Business: June received an e-mail from City of SLO Parks and Rec about rude behavior by AYSO adults/spectators towards City Staff during EOS tournament. June to write an apology letter to City. Region to consider hiring uniformed security for tournaments. Heather to put in newsletter that parking in front of the ATM is not allowed. Consider adding Sesloc has a free sponsor for 2017.
