AYSO Region 599 Board Meeting Minutes September 19th, 2016 Attendees: June McIvor, Maggie Browning, Bryan Krill, Todd Cooper, Zack Self, Nick Drews, Callie Boller, Betty Bautista, David Marshall
Call to Order & Intro – June McIvor @ 6:35PM August Minutes – motion / approved by board Board Report – June McIvor o New Positions: Nick Drew - Treasurer; Courtney Kienow – Facilities Coordinator; Callie Boller - Regional Commissioner Treasurer’s Report – Bryan Krill o Heavy with revenue, with lots of bills to pay as we enter the Fall season Regional Commissioner’s Report – June McIvor o Fields: C4 is not available for use, so June re-scheduled U-8 and BU-12 for rest of season o June will meet with the city and try to secure that field for next year End of Season Tourney – o Bryan and June made the schedule – more games on Friday night, and games start at 9AM on Saturday o fields already set up on B, C, D for Saturday morning o Board agreed to move G12 to Wednesday night, which would spread out games on Friday night and avoid having a 4:30 game Cal Poly Clinics – o Coaches clinics: 4 coaches showed up to the coaching clinic It was discussed whether we should push the coaching clinic back to a few weeks after play starts, or offer more clinics (some falling later in the season) o Player clinics: The board discussed having the clinics be specialized (either by age group, skill, or position) o AYSO Day @ Women’s Game: October 9th Picture Days – Tina Self (via Zack) o Tina sent schedule to June (and she will send it out this week) Volunteer Dinner – o Room is not available @ Madonna on the 17th o Board decided to move the dinner to November 10th at 6PM (in same location at Madonna Inn) Surf and Turf Planning Committee – o We need volunteers for the committee Opening Day Recap – o Overall, things went well o Games ran a little late (need to start on time) o Coaches game cards were done well, ref game cards were not o Coach hats and t-shirts were handed out; Need keeper jerseys and balls (Maggie emailed Brad) Registration – June and Betty o Registration rolled in very late this year o The board discussed possible reasons (online, lack of flyers being handed out at schools, etc.) o Another issue was incomplete registrations Recommendations were to cut off payment earlier and have an even later in-person late registration All Stars – David Marshall o All Star coach assessment form completed o Currently accepting coach and player applications o Upcoming Dates: Info meeting on 9/29 Selecting coaches on 10/5 Evaluations on 10/16 Next Meeting: Monday, October 17th @ 6:30PM Adjournment – 8:02PM
