A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF BAL HARBOUR VILLAGE, FLORIDA; APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH HOMESTEAD CONCRETE AND DRAINAGE, INC., TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY LABOR AND MATERIALS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF ONE HUNDRED THIRTY LINEAR FEET OF REPLACEMENT BLUE SHELL SIDEWALK ADJACENT TO THE ONE HARBOUR WAY CONDOMINIUM, IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($27,500); AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE FUTURE SIDEWALK INSTALLATION AGREEMENTS AS NEEDED, AT THE SAME OR LOWER COST PER LINEAR FOOT SUBJECT TO ANNUAL FISCAL BUDGET ALLOCATIONS. Issue: Should the Village Council approve the agreement with Homestead Concrete and Drainage, Inc., to install replacement sidewalk along Collins Avenue? Item Summary/Recommendation: The sidewalk adjacent to the One Harbour Way Condominium was recently identified as an area requ iring repairs . In order to obtain the required result; we solicited a quote from Homestead Concrete and Drainage , Inc., the company that has successfully installed our custom sidewalk surface known as "Bal Harbour Twilight Blue Stones" in past projects . The scope of work provides replacement of one hundred thirty linear feet (130 ft.) of sidewalk. During repairs, all work areas will receive temporary pedestrian walkways to allow for access and off duty police will be retained to maintain traffic flow. In anticipation of this work , a quote was obtained from Homestead Concrete and Drainage, Inc. for the needed repairs at a cost of twenty -seven thousand five hundred dollars ($27,500). This quoted price equates to seven hundred, eighty square feet (780) of new "Bal Harbour Twilight Blue Stones" sidewalk at thirty five dollars and twenty six cents ($35 .26) , per square foot for this custom sidewalk. Additionally, I am seeking your authorization to execute future agreements for this type of sidewalk repairs within the Village as the needs are identified at the same or below, the linear cost per foot as provided by Homestead Concrete and Drainage, Inc., subject to budgeted funds .
