Bolts in the Bathtub Serger Queen - Session 3 Thirteen’s a Charm
Teacher - Janis Rivera Supply List: BOOK IS REQUIRED: Serge and Merge Quilts by Sharon V. Rotz Please bring with you to class:
1. The book! 2. Nifty Notions Half-Square triangle ruler 3. Other rulers: a. 8.5”x 24.5” grid ruler OR b. 6.5”x 12.5” grid ruler 4. Pick 13 colors that you love…remember this is essentially a scrappy quilt! 5. Please bring your fabrics pre-cut per the instructions in the book, for the Thirteen’s a Charm project. 6. Good quality serging thread in a complimentary or contrasting color. The contrasting variegated thread is really pretty with all of the mixed colors. Solid color that matches for your needles and lower looper. Although I used variegated in both loopers and a solid in the needles….your choice. 7. Mary Ellen’s Best Press spray. 8. Cleaned and oiled serger machine. 9. Don’t forget your power cord! 10. General sewing supplies: small scissors, pins, marking pens/pencils, etc. Please be sure to have your fabric cut and labeled so you are ready when you get to class. We will be constructing all of the strip units and at least four half-square triangle blocks so you will get the idea for the rest of the quilt. We will also make at least one of your prairie points. As always, time is a crunch and I really want you to do the techniques in class! See you in April!

All brands of sewing machines are welcome in our classes (with the exception of Mastery classes).
As a courtesy to others, please mute cell phones while in class and exit the class to make/take a call.
Please be prepared for different temperatures - if you get chilly with A/C please bring a sweater.
Please label your equipment to avoid confusion and to let us get your left items to you.
No kids in adult classes - no adults in kid classes.
Our teachers make very effort to start on time - Please make every effort to be set up by class time.
