Bolts in the Bathtub Hoochy Mama
Teacher: Anna Koelewyn Supply List: Teacher: Anna Koelewyn (cell#559-410-2053, home#661-268-0805) Required Book: Hoochy Mama Quilts by Mary Lou Weidman Required Ruler: a 3 ½” square ruler Sewing Machine in good working order with a ¼” foot and a new needle (either an 80/12 microtex sharp or a 70/10 if you are working with batiks). Also bring 50 weight neutral cotton thread. Usual sewing supplies (pins, seam ripper, scissors for cutting thread), small cutting, your usual rotary cutter and a 28mm rotary cutter, a long 24# ruler and a square ruler (from a 7 ½” to a 12 ½”), a small cutting mat, and if you have a small iron and pressing mat bring them. You are going to want at least 3 yards of background fabric. Try to use fabric that does not have a lot of design it in. Solid or close to it will work fine. You will also want a variety of scrap fabrics or fat quarters that can be cut into 4” strips. I have seen these blocks made with all different styles of fabric, 30’s, Orientals, brights, Christmas colors, Americana, etc., pick your style and go for it. Before class: cut at least a yard of your background fabric into 3 1/2” squares and you some of your other fabrics into 4” strips. It’s not necessary to have it all cut, just enough to get started. Please do not hesitate to call me with any questions or concerns.

All brands of sewing machines are welcome in our classes (with the exception of Mastery classes).

Please be prepared for different temperatures - if you get chilly with A/C please bring a sweater.
Please label your equipment to avoid confusion and to let us get your left items to you.
No kids in adult classes - no adults in kid classes.
