Calico Christmas Sampler Block 4 – “Stocking”
3” x 7” Start with 4” x 8” background. Trace appliqué patterns onto fusible web (or print onto printable fusible with ink jet printer). Iron fusible to wrong side of wool. Cut out on the lines. Use placement pattern to fuse appliques onto background in numerical order of the numbers on the applique patterns. Dotted lines show the overlapping areas. Stitch appliqué using blanket stitch and matching threads. Trace the details shown in blue on placement pattern onto Sulky Tear Easy Stabilizer. Pin in place. Stitch the holly using a running stitch and green Valdani and a Lazy Daisy stitch with white Valdani to make the flower. Sew five red beads to the center of the holly and one red bead in the center of the flower as shown in red on placement pattern. Use a pinking rotary blade to trim background to 3” x 7”. Proudly display until next month! Enjoy!
