Dear Parents/Carers
As part of Science week, Year 7 pupils will be visiting the The Big Bang Fair in Birmingham NEC on Thursday 17 th March 2016. The purpose of the visit is to support and embed the pupil’s learning. There are theatre shows such as “Gastronauts and the Quantum Chocolate Factory”,” The Hollywood Special Effects Show” and numerous others. It also includes 150+ interactive stands and workshops, Inspiring science and engineering projects, Careers information, resources and activities which are suitable for all age groups. Pupils will need to be at school as usual for a prompt 9:00am departure. We will arrive at the NEC at approximately 10:30am. Lunch will take place in a designated area at the centre. Pupils need to wear school uniform. Please provide your child with a packed lunch in a named disposable bag. If your child has free school meals a lunch can be provided. We will be departing from the Birmingham NEC at 4:00pm and aiming to arrive at school at 5:30pm, traffic permitting. The cost of this trip is £13 per child. This will cover the cost of the coach. Please make cheques payable to EPMS. Total amount needs to be paid by Friday 26th February 2016. Those who are eligible for Pupil Premium can apply for assistance towards the cost of this trip. For further details please contact Mrs Luckham via the school office. Please administer travel sickness medication for the outward journey and send any medication required during the day (including asthma inhalers) or for the return journey in an envelope marked with your child’s name, dose, time of administration and signed permission. Medication should be handed to the form tutor on the morning of the trip. Please identify any other medical requirements on the slip below. Please inform and update the school office of any changes to contact details to ensure they are all up to date. Thank you for your continued support.
