Albany Junior School Newsletter 4th December 2015 Dear Parent/Carer Stay and Read – Another amazing response, the children enjoyed the experience. A huge thank you to parents who attended and supported the event. Mrs Goffin Football Match - On Tuesday the year 5/6 football team travelled to Southwark Primary School for a friendly. The pitch and goals were by far the biggest the team have ever played on and they coped with the conditions fantastically well. In the end we lost 6-4 but showed great resilience in fighting back. Aiden Bullivant was our man of the match, he led the front line tirelessly and assisted a goal with a beautiful pass. Well done boys! Early Bird Week - Week beginning 7th December will be Early Bird week. All children that are in class by the bell (8.50am) in the morning will collect a stamp on their chart. Collecting all 5 stamps will mean they will receive an end of week reward and their names will be put into a raffle for a grand prize. The winner will be drawn in assembly on Friday 11th December. The children will have another chance to meet Albunny our new school mascot. Christmas Fayre – Wednesday 9th December 2015 The staff and children will be holding their annual Christmas Fayre, which takes place on Wednesday 9th December 2015, the children may look around from 2:45p.m. open to adults from 3.30pm – 4:45p.m. Visit Santa, have your face painted or shop for your last minute stocking fillers from our visiting stalls. Donations of tombola and raffle prizes will be gratefully received. Edible items for the Cake Stall on the day please. Remember to label your cake tins/boxes with a name if you wish to collect them from the Cake Stall on the evening of the Christmas Fayre or the following day from the School Office. Events like the Christmas Fayre always need an army of willing helpers otherwise we have to reduce the amount of stalls we can offer. If you can help set-up and/or help run a stall please leave your details by contacting the School Office. If you wish to run your own stall, tables can be booked via the school office. Tables are £5.00 and must include a raffle donation. Tables can be reserved by contacting the school office. Tesco Christmas Colouring Competition Thank you for the lovely entries. Toton Tesco will be holding a Christmas party at the Haven Centre on December 12th. They have a frozen event, visit to Santa, disco and food all for the cost of £5.
