Arabian Canal Streetscapes
Detailed Master Planning for Area 1 & 2 of the Arabian Canal project: this phase included detailed master planning and schematic design of key open space systems within the 400hc Phase 1 of the project. It is a refinement of the regional scale planning completed in an earlier phase of work for the entire canal project. The streetscapes form a major component of the open space system and utilize micro climate modification techniques to cool pedestrian areas so that the goal of a walkable New Urbanist community could be achieved. Streets are envisioned as an armature supporting daily life in this urban district. Wide active promenades, saltwater canals, open space boulevards, pocket parks, dinning kiosks and freestanding retail kiosks are combined to create a rich city life.
