CLAREMONT PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER FRIDAY 17TH JUNE 2016
CAR PARKING AT CLAREMONT Last week a silver Astra double-parked for nearly 5 minutes whilst the driver of the vehicle went to collect several children from the playground. This resulted in traffic coming to a halt and vehicles having to mount the pavement where children and adults were walking. Not only is this totally unacceptable but extremely dangerous. Will the owner of the silver Astra:
Registration YP54 JDX please think and park their car in a safe place in future. The following cars:
Registration FG51 AZX Registration FN51 VAJ were parked on the yellow chevrons and again left for at least 5 minutes whilst parents/carers collected their children from school. There are no excuses for parking illegally to collect your child. If there are no spaces near the school then you will need to park in the surrounding roads and walk!
SUMMER FETE – WEDNESDAY 20TH JULY 3.30 – 5.00 pm Don’t forget to put the school Summer fete on your calendars. If anyone has any teddies in good condition, raffle prizes, or cakes they would like to donate, we will be very pleased to accept them nearer the time.
RAMADAN Ramadan Mubarak. Our Muslim families are currently in the holy month of Ramadan and will enjoy Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations at the end of this month. During these celebrations we will be authorising 1 day of school absence for these families w/c 4th July, when the sighting of the new moon has been declared.
COFFEE MORNING – 27TH MAY 2016 A huge thank-you to everyone who came to the latest Claremont Coffee Morning on 27th May. Parents/carers were extremely positive towards the school and stated the following: -

We are so proud of these comments and will be holding our next Coffee Morning on Friday 8th July 9.00 – 10.00 am.

LATE ARRIVALS
Yesterday 48 children were late into school at the start of the day. As you will agree this is not acceptable. School starts at 9.00 am prompt and although we appreciate that there may be times when it is unavoidable to be late, every effort should be made to ensure your child is in school at the correct time.
SCHOOL UNIFORM Please ensure that your child’s school uniform and any outdoor clothing is clearly labelled. Every day many items of clothing are left in the playground which could easily be returned to the appropriate child if they were labelled. Coats in particular can be expensive items, please label them clearly. May we remind you that sensible black school shoes or black sandals MUST be worn at school. Trainers are not suitable footwear. Shoes or sandals may have a modest heel and should be plain in design. Thank you for your continued support.
HOMEWORK AFTER SCHOOL CLUB Please note that the Homework After School Club which started last Monday, 3.30 pm – 4.15 pm is now FULL. The final session will be held on Monday 11th July.
