DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias ECAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week for the week ending Jan. 3. DIVISION I Player of the Week Chris Hass – Bucknell University, Sr., Guard, Pellston, Mich. Hass had a monster game with 40 points in an 84-76 win at Army West Point on Saturday and averaged 31.0 points in a pair of wins for the Bison last week. He scored 32 in the first half alone against the Black Knights while making 11-of-11 field goals and all four three-point attempts, and finished with the first 40-point game by a Patriot League player since Lehigh's C.J. McCollum had 42 against Kent State on Nov. 26, 2010. Hass had the first 40-point effort in a Patriot League game since Navy's Chris Harris hit the same mark on Feb. 10, 2010 against Lehigh, and became the first Bucknell player to hit the mark since Kevin Bettencourt scored 42 against St. Francis (Pa.) on Dec. 6, 2003. Hass made 13-of-19 shots and 4of-6 three-pointers in the game and added three rebounds and two assists. He scored 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting and 3of-5 from beyond the arc in an 88-58 win over Navy on Wednesday and filled the stat sheet with career highs of five assists and five steals. Hass averaged 31.0 points, 3.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 3.0 rebounds per game in the two contests while shooting 21-of-31 from the field and 7-of-11 from three-point range as well as 13-of-15 at the foul line despite playing just 57 minutes total. Rookie of the Week Abdulai Bundu – Quinnipiac University, Fr., Forward, Upper Marlboro, Md. Bundu had a breakthrough week for the Bobcats, averaging 19 points and 12 rebounds over two games. He came into the week with personal bests of eight points and nine rebounds, and shattered those marks with 23 points and 15 boards at Maine on Tuesday. He followed that up with 15 points and nine rebounds against Iona on Saturday, missing a doubledouble by just one board. He had 17 of his 24 rebounds on the week on the offensive glass. DIVISION II Player of the Week Matt Bonds – St. Michael’s College, Jr., Forward, Accokeek, Md. Bonds posted consecutive double-doubles in two games last week for the Purple Knights. In a win against Nyack, he scored 22 points and added a NCAA DII-high-tying 24 rebounds. He followed that up with 19 points and 13 rebounds in a loss to Southern New Hampshire on Saturday. For the week, he shot 52 percent from the floor and averaged eight offensive rebounds per game. Rookie of the Week Malik Jackson – West Chester University, Fr., Guard, Lansdowne, Pa. Jackson averaged 28.0 points per game in a pair of wins over Wilmington and Seton Hill last week. Jackson tied his season high with 34 points against Wilmington while adding 22 points in a win over conference-rival Seton Hill. He also averaged 7.0 rebounds per game, grabbing a season-best seven boards in each game last week.

DIVISION III New England Player of the Week Tom Palleschi – Tufts University, Jr., Center, Haverhill, Mass. Palleschi was named the Cal Lutheran Thrivent Financial Tournament MVP last week, as the Jumbos won their second tournament of December. He blocked 11 shots, including eight in the first half, and had 11 second-half points when Tufts pulled away from Whitman in the first game on Tuesday. His 10 second-half points helped Tufts overcome a five-point halftime deficit in the title game against the host Kingsmen on Wednesday. Palleschi finished the week averaging 19.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 7.5 blocks and 3.0 assists per game. Rookie of the Week Ademola Afonja – Regis College, Fr., Forward, Staten Island, N.Y. Afonja came off the bench in three contests for the Crimson and Gold. The athletic freshman averaged a team-best 15.7 points and 8.7 rebounds during the three games. Against Oglethorpe, Afonja scored a career-best 20 points on 9-of-14 (64.3%) shooting. He also grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds against Westfield State on Saturday while also scoring a team-best 19 points in what would be his second double-double of the season. DIVISION III Upstate Player of the Week Joey Flanagan – Ithaca College, So., Guard, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Flanagan scored a career-high 39 points as Ithaca College earned its first conference win of the season after defeating Stevens, 120-110. Flanagan reached the milestone after converting 17-of-21 field goals including four from distance. The sophomore guard also tallied a game-high four steals and grabbed one rebound in the win. Rookie of the Week Tom Horvat – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Fr., Guard, Cranston, R.I. Horvat led RPI in points per game (16.3) and steals (12) during a 2-2 week. He also had 11 rebounds, two assists and only three turnovers while averaging 30.3 minutes per game. In an 84-71 victory against Wilkes in the St. John Fisher Tournament, Horvat scored a game-high 20 points with three rebounds and a game-best six steals in 32 minutes. He then had 11 points with three rebounds, two assists and a steal in 25 minutes during the championship game, a 67-54 loss to the Cardinals. Horvat opened Liberty League play by scoring 12 points with three rebounds with a game-high four assists and a steal in 30 minutes of a 60-51 win over Hobart. The next day in a 69-63 loss to Clarkson, he had a team-high 22 points with two rebounds, an assist and a game-high four steals. DIVISION III Metro Player of the Week Evan Kupferberg – New York University, Sr., Forward, Boca Raton, Fla.

Kupferberg averaged a double-double in a 3-0 week for the Violets last week. The senior averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds throughout the week, and shot 64.9 (28-for-37) percent from the field. The forward highlighted his week with a career-high 33 points in a win against Salve Regina. Rookie of the Week James Frazier – New Jersey City University, Fr., Forward, Elizabeth, N.J. Frazier averaged 15.0 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game for the Gothic Knights on the week. He scored 14 points and pulled down five boards in his collegiate debut against Buffalo State, and followed up with a 16-point, eight-rebound effort against Western Connecticut. He shot 41.7 percent in his first two collegiate games, and added three assists and a steal in 48 minutes of reserve play. DIVISION III South Player of the Week Erik Fisher – Stevenson University, Sr., Forward, Pasadena, Md. Fisher averaged 23.5 points and eight rebounds per game at the Captains Shootout and was named to the all-tournament team. Fisher scored a season-high 30 points and grabbed a career-best 19 rebounds in a 65-59 setback to conference foe Albright to begin 2016. Prior to the New Year, Fisher scored 28 points with 10 rebounds in a win over Shenandoah, and now has five double-doubles on the season. The senior also had 19 points in to open the week against Scranton. Over three games he shot an impressive 51.7 percent (31-of-60) from the field. Rookie of the Week Jason Kenny – Misericordia University, Fr., Guard, Dickson City, Pa. Kenny posted a team-high 29 points in a tough loss to Franklin & Marshall last week. The freshman also posted seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in the defeat.
