About the Eagles In their final game of 2016, the Edgewood College women’s basketball team came up short in an 82-51 loss to Alverno College. The Eagles couldn’t slow down the Inferno who shot 50.7 percent from the field for the game. Cali Twet get the Eagles off to a strong start, hitting her first four shots from the field including a three-pointer. But after leading 9-7, the Eagles wouldn’t lead again. Marissa Hoyer scored six points in the second quarter, but Edgewood College (0-10, 0-5 NACC) still faced a 42-24 deficit at the halftime break. The Eagles cut into Alverno College’s (3-7, 3-2 NACC) lead with an 18-point third quarter. Taylor Hilliard scored five points, including a three-pointer to bring the Eagles within 59-42 heading into the fourth quarter. Twet led all scorers with 12 points, including two three-point baskets. Hoyer was the only other Eagle in double figures with 11 points, marking her fourth straight double-digit game. Allison Gordon had nine points and had a team-high nine rebounds. The Eagles shot 33.3 percent (20-for-60) and committed just nine turnovers.

About the Warriors Wisconsin Lutheran College enters the new year as one of two NACC teams who are still undefeated in conference play.
