Here’s how to slice and dice fresh broccoli. Use as an appetizer, in salads, as an ingredient in another dish, and as a cooked vegetable. ______1.
Get fresh broccoli. Get cutting board. Get knife. Get a fresh clean bunch of broccoli, a clean cutting board and a clean, sharp knife.

Cut stem. Put the bunch of broccoli on to the cutting board and, using the knife, cut off the thick stem end from the bunch of broccoli. Throw away the stem end.

Cut off stalks. Using the knife, cut off each broccoli stalk from the bunch. Throw away any part of the stem remaining after all stalks are cut away.

Cut off leaves to get larger pieces. Put one broccoli stalk at a time on to the cutting board and, using the knife, cut away any stray leaves from the broccoli stalk. Some chefs serve these larger broccoli stalks. Throw away the stray leaves.

Cut bite sized. To cut smaller, bite sized pieces, use the knife to continue cutting the broccoli stalks from step 4.
