GAME NOTES OPENING TIP Gettysburg and Washington look to get back in the win column in a Centennial Conference match up inside Bream Gym today. ALL-TIME SERIES The Bullets have won the last five meetings with the Shorewomen to extend their lead in the all-time series to 23-8. Washington’s last victory over Gettysburg was in 2012. LAST MEETING Senior Samantha Pagel posted what was then a career-high 18 points and the defense held Washington to just four field goals in the second half in a 53-42 victory in early December. With the score tied 26-26 coming out of halftime, the Bullets limited the Shorewomen to just 4-of-31 (12.9 percent) from the floor in the final period. Pagel connected on 7-of11 field goals and added six rebounds, while junior Emily Duggan scored 11 points. Freshman Annie Reilly contributed 10 rebounds, four assists, and four blocks. LAST TIME OUT Gettysburg sliced a 14-point deficit down to three midway through the final period, but host McDaniel held the Bullets to just two field goals over the final nine minutes of a 53-38 decision Wednesday night. Freshman Emily Gibbons turned in 11 of her team-high 18 points during a 13-2 run that cut the deficit to 34-31 with nine minutes left. The Bullets finished with a school-record tying 13 blocked shots in the contest, including five by junior Jessica Porter.
NATIONAL RANKS Gettysburg ranks eighth in the nation in scoring defense (49.5 ppg) and second in defensive field-goal percentage defense (29.5 percent). Gettysburg finished as the national leader in defensive field-goal percentage in 2012-13.
