GAME NOTES OPENING TIP
Gettysburg tangles with Centennial Conference leader McDaniel tonight inside Bream. ALL-TIME SERIES McDaniel leads the all-time series 49-38. The Green Terror have won the last four meetings, including the last three by 15 or more points. LAST MEETING Lindsey Nichols poured in a career-high 31 points to lead No. 25 McDaniel to a 59-43 victory over Gettysburg in last season’s regular-season finale. The lead changed hands 10 times in the opening half before an eightpoint run gave the Green Terror a 30-24 advantage heading into the half. McDaniel closed out the win by shooting 52.6 percent in the second stanza. Nichols finished 11of-18 from the floor, including 7-of-9 from beyond the arc. Jessica Porter was the lone double-figure scorer for Gettysburg with 10 points. LAST TIME OUT Gettysburg cruised past Swarthmore 78-55 on Monday. The Bullets led 17-4 after the first quarter and led by as many as 30 in the second half with the reserves leading the charge in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Emily Gibbons posted 16 of her 21 points in the first half, adding five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Senior Jessica Porter tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman Emma Dorshimer posted 13 points and six boards. Senior Emily Duggan grabbed six rebounds and blocked four shots.
NATIONAL LEADERS Gettysburg ranks among the national leaders in several categories. The Bullets are fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.26), sixth in field-goal percentage defense (30.4), 10th in assists per game (17.9), 11th in blocked shots per game (6.0), 13th in scoring defense (50.1), and 18th in scoring margin (17.3). DISHING DIMES Senior Kim Ryan ranks third in the conference with 4.7 assists per game. That is the best average by a Bullet since Maureen Andrews ’95 averaged 5.4 in 1994-95. TOP FIRST-YEAR Freshman Emma Dorshimer leads all Centennial newcomers at 14.1 points per game. Dorshimer has scored in double-figures in all but three games this season, including a seasonhigh 27 against Shenandoah. Over her last three games, she has connected on 50 percent of her shot attempts from the floor. SCOUTING MCDANIEL... McDaniel received one vote in the D3hoops national poll. The Green Terror have won five in a row, including a 64-60 win over Franklin & Marshall on Monday. Karli Zeps, Jasmine Smith, and Lindsey Nichols combined for 57 points against the Diplomats.
