Edupoint Technical Notification Title: Rubric Averaging in Grade Book Document Number: ETN-GB-20121105_A26994 Synergy SIS Synergy SE Grade Book
Release Version: 7.5.10 Enhancement Bug Fix Knowledge Base
Description: For teachers keeping a standards-based grade book, the overall calculated grade can now be displayed as an average of rubric scores, rather than the average percentage. For example, if a student earned three scores on assignments graded with a 4 Point Rubric – ‘3’, ‘2’, and ‘3’ – Grade Book can now display an overall grade of ‘2.67’ rather than ’66.67%’. Steps: 1. Navigate to Grade Book > Grade Book Setup > My Report Card Score Types.
2. Add a new Report Card Score Type (or modify an existing score type). • Select ‘Hide this score in the final grade display’ if the overall mark should not be displayed in the Grade column on Grade Book Main or on printed reports. With this box checked, Grade Book will display only the average grade, not the corresponding Mark this average would earn. The effects of this selection will be shown in Step 3.
•
Add Low Score and High Score values that are consistent with the Rubric used to grade assignments. For example, if assignments are graded with a 4 Point Rubric, the High Score for the highest Score would be set to ‘4’
