HERMITAGE GIRLS SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION Meeting Minutes– February 12, 2015 Attendees: Dan Black, John Cataloni, David George, Brittany Haddox, Mike Joanow, Leann Martin, Vic Miskolitz, Shawn Mulligan, Stephanie Roshala, Rick Testani & Joe White. 

Reviewed and approved January 14, 2015 Meeting Minutes as presented. Mike Joanow made the motion to accept minutes as written and David George second the motion.



City Report – Joe White stated that he needs to follow up with Neil Hosick about the drawing certification and David George will follow up with John Hudson about construction.



Joe White attended the last Mercer County Fast Pitch meeting on Feb. 8 th. The umpire fees per team will increase in 2015. The 10U is $20 and was $17.50, 12U is $25 and was $23, and 14U & up is $40 and it was $35 per team last year. Slippery Rock would like to enter a 12U team in the MC league. They have not had teams in the MC league for several years due to a lack of interest. The scheduling for games will take place on April 11th for 10U and April 12th for 14U. The 12U will be on April 11th or 12th. The dates and times still have to be confirmed at the Pine Township building in GC. The opening game days will be May 1st for 10U, May 11th (May 4th possible if enough umpires) for 12U, May 18th for 14U ad June 15th for 18U. The tournament days will be June 25th-28th for 10U at Sharpsville, July 9th12th for 12U at GC and July 16th-19th for 14U at Hermitage.



Nominations for outstanding 2015 Board Members were conducted. Leann Martin nominated and made a motion to accept Lee Anna Garman as Asst. Dir. Of Concession. It was seconded by Mike Joanow and approved. Joe White mentioned Shawn Mulligan asked about the equipment director position that HGSA has not had in several years. David George made the motion and Dan Black second to accept Shawn Mulligan as Director of Equipment.



Fast Pitch Report: David had nothing new to report.



Slow Pitch Report: Vic M. is still trying to find out the schedule for games and what teams will participate. He is also going to recruit players from Farrell and Sharon.



Secretary Report – In accordance with Pennsylvania’s new background check legislation, Joe White recommended and made a motion to change coach’s clearance forms (Act 34 Pa. State Police Criminal Record check & Act 151 Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse) from 2 years to 3 years. Dan Black second the motion and it was accepted.



Treasurer Report: Current balance in account: $19,185.50, reported by Dan Black. Dan also mentioned Sharpsville will host the Lydia tournament this year. He was not sure of the date in May or age divisions. Dr. Gulland, Scheidemantle, Subway and Joy Cone Co. have agreed to sponsor teams this year.



Concession Report: Dr. Gulland offered to supply 35 case of water again for 2015 season and sponsor a 10U team.



Next board meeting will be March 11th and start at 8PM. The coaches meeting will follow around 8:30PM pending City building approval for time and date.
