INFILTRATION AND INFLOW REDUCTION Blue River South Area 4 Project WHO?
WHAT? • Important field investigations of the sanitary collection system in your area.
WHY? • Investigate the existing sewers to determine locations of needed sewer repairs.
• Kansas City Water Services assisted by GBA, Dubois Consultants, Schmitz King & Associates, and TREKK Design Group.
WHERE? The project is located in Kansas City, Missouri within the following boundaries:
• Reduce risk and frequency of sanitary
• Northern boundary: 85th Street
overflows and basement backups.
• Southern boundary: 109th Street
• Rehabilitate the aging sewer system.
• Eastern boundary: Woodland Avenue
• Meet regulatory requirements as part
• Western boundary: State Line Road
of KC’s Overflow Control Program.
WHAT TO EXPECT? • Various field crews inspecting manholes and cleaning the public sewer lines.
• Smoke from smoke testing activities. • Temporary street closures. • Public meeting will be held to inform property owners about the field investigations and project schedule.
• Crews may knock on your door if they need to inspect the sewer or manholes on your property.
• Crews will not ask to enter your home or building.
IMPROVEMENTS?
WHEN? • Field investigations will be on going through January 2016.
• Design professional services will be conducted from February 2015 through November 2016.
• Construction will occur between March 2017 to March 2019.
• Current activity includes identifying needed sewer rehabilitation repairs.
CONTRACT AMOUNT Design professional services contract includes all services rendered through the construction phase of the project.
