He did everything with us. He ran the stairs, he ran the sprints and when we were done, he was the only person who seemed to want more. From that day forward Coach Wells set the tone of the team. We all knew it was time to go to work. We were terrified. And for good reason. Over the next three years Coach Wells pushed my teammates and me to our absolute limits. We went on three mile runs before school in weather that rivals our current cold snap. We woke up at 5 AM for three straight days of Dog Soldiers where Devon Calhoun and I carried each other on our backs to the bottom of MUM and back. And if you could still stand after a lifting session with Coach, you were doing something wrong. He carried that intensity through to the season. Every day he pushed us to run faster, hit harder and execute better. Every day
