Planning then tabled the discussion on the General Plan Amendment relative to the Transportation Corridors. Planning's second meeting was on 27 September. They held two public hearings. The first hearing concerned the proposed rezone of a 2.86 parcel of property (above) from Agriculture to Multi-Family High Density. The second public hearing concerned the proposed rezone of a 4.47 acre parcel of property located generally at 75 South Gateway Drive, currently zoned Mixed-Use with a request to rezone to Multi-Family High Density. Both of these public hearings will be addressed as action items on Planning's October 11th meeting. Following the public hearings Planning approved the Final Plat for the Providence Highlands Subdivision Phase 4, a 12-lot subdivision located at approximately 1170 South 800 East. Their last item was a discussion item on proposed amendments to Zoning Regulations by adding Multi-Family Medium Density Residential Zone. This will be continued. Council also held two meetings in September. On 12 September Council approved three development agreements. First for Providence Gateway Phase 1, a residential multifamily subdivision containing 25 townhomes, located approximately at 425 West 100 South; Second for Providence Heights subdivision, Phase 1, a 13-lot residential subdivision located at approximately 900 South 400 East; Third for Orchard Hills Phase 3, a 13-lot residential subdivision located generally at 1030 South 600 East. Staff will continue with the design standards necessary to bid the project. Council's second meeting was on 26 September. The first item was the Oath of Office by our Youth Council. We had a fine group of young men and women participating in our government process.....we hope many will be future leaders of Providence. Council then held a public hearing to consider vacating public utility easements relative to Parcels 02206-0005, 0006, 0007, and 0008 and then approved the vacating (South Cache Commercial Subdivision). The last item was a resolution for a cooperative agreement between the Utah Department of Transportation and Providence City for participation in the cost of constructing a new south entrance for the Maceys complex. This is relative to the safety issues on the highway and Providence will act as a holding entity for money contributed by UDOT to Amsource (the developer) in altering the present entrance to Macy's. We look forward to seeing you at our Oktoberkraut Celebration, Saturday, October 7, for a fun time for all. Mayor Calderwood

Storm Water Information: Do you know . . . A watershed is the area of land where all of the water that falls in it ends up in the same place. No matter where you are, you are in a watershed. Watersheds are important. We all rely on water to exist and what we do to the land impacts water quality for us and users downstream. As you do your fall cleaning, please dispose of waste properly.
