NOTES ON THE HAWKS n Monmouth guard Austin Tilghman posted the second triple-double in program history at Yale, scoring 11 points to go along with 15 assists and 14 rebounds. He is the first guard in school history to post a triple-double, joining former center John Bunch as the only Hawks to accomplish the feat. Bunch went for 11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks against St. Francis (NY) on 2/3/07 at Boylan Gym. Tilghman’s 15 assists were the most since Derric Thomas had 17 on 1/17/86 against LIU Brooklyn. The 15 assists were the second most in a single game in school history (Derric Thomas 2x, 2/24/86 vs. Loyola & 2/5/86 vs. Wagner, Greg McLaughlin 2/9/85 vs. Vermont). His 14 rebounds were the most for a Hawk since Diago Quinn had 16 on 2/28/16 vs. Niagara. The 14 boards were the most by an MU guard since Deon Jones posted 13 at Siena on 3/1/15.

ALPHABETICAL

n Louie Pillari netted career highs in points with 23, field goals made with nine, and three pointers with five in Monmouth’s win over Yale. He was 9-13 from the field and 5-7 from deep, scoring 14 of his points in the first half and nine more in the second. His previous career high came last season in the MAAC quarterfinals vs. Niagara with 17, and it was his second double-digit game of the season (14 points at Virginia).

n Deion Hammond is one of five MAAC rookies averaging in double fi gures, and his 10.9 points per game ranks him third amongst conference freshmen. He trails only Rider’s Jordan Allen and Frederick Scott in rookie scoring, and is second in three pointers made by a freshmen behind Allen, who leads the conference overall. He has scored in double digits eight times, and leads Monmouth in three pointers made with 31.

n Austin Tilghman has missed one career game, coming last season vs. Fairfield due to illness, and is on track to finish at least second in program history in games played. He has played in 116, and the Hawks have 16 games remaining in the regular season, which would put him at 132, one ahead of Justin Robinson’s 131 in second. Chris Brady is the all-time leader at 135 games played.

n MU has seen nine different starting lineups in the first 14 games of the season, with 10 different players earning a spot on the floor to start a game to this point. On Monmouth’s roster, 11 players have earned a start at some point in their career, 10 of them this season in addition to Zac Tillman, who has totaled 67 starts in his Monmouth career. George Papas picked up his first career start against Hofstra. Only three players on the roster have never started a game in the Blue and White (D. Pillari, Ibiezugbe, Martin).

n Micah Seaborn is now 18th all-time in scoring, 10 points behind Kevin Owens in 17th. Austin Tilghman is also in the top-20 in career assists with 202, seven shy of three players tied in 16th. Tilghman has already set a career-high with 65 assists. For the eighth time in the King Rice era, MU shot over 90% from the foul line against Yale. It was the second highest percentage since Rice took over as the Hawks shot 94.4% on 17-18 from the stripe, not missing until there were 27 seconds remaining in the game. It was the best percentage since the Blue and White shot 19-of-20, 95% at St. Francis Brooklyn on 12/10/13.
